Diana

Diana is my second choice for a girl's name and I wondered what the general view of the name was. Would you assume a mother of a Diana was a royal family superfan type (when I actually lean more republican) or is that a fading reference for a girl born in 2023/4?

It's time for a come back. I met a baby Diana recently although baby's mam said dee-anna

It's interesting that it's never been a particularly popular name in the UK, even after the late Princess became popular.

Diana is a popular name in many European countries. Probably more so than in Britain. I know somebody through work who has an adult daughter named Diana and while it's possible she was named after the princess, I wouldn't assume that was the case. It's a old name from Roman mythology so I don't think you would have to be some kind of Princess Diana superfan to choose it.

I don’t like it because of the ‘die’ bit of the name, but that aside, yes I would think you were a Princess Diana fan and held strong opinions on the royal family.
