Which do you prefer out of Meredith and Edith? I think I'm more swaying towards Edith but the more I see Meredith, the more I like it, and I suppose it has more nickname/shortenings options!

Meredith is beautiful, not keen on Edith

I love Edie as a nn, but much prefer Meredith as a "proper" name.
I also know a little Dodie (like Dodie Smith, author of 101 Dalmatians)

Meredith, by a country mile.

I love both names, also love Judith. I would go for Edith, as the correct Welsh pronunciation of Meredith isn't how I would instinctively pronounce it (I think it's more emphasis on the -red in the middle).

Definitely Meredith. It's mellifluous and elegant, and Meri is a sweet nn.

Ive always loved the name Meredith that should have been

I prefer Meredith, it has a softer sound and I think slightly unusual ( at least in my circle) but go with your heart.

edie is so very popular where i live I would avoid edith. Ive always lived the name Meredith.

LaTangerina · 17/09/2022 09:23

Not to my taste, I think Edith conjours images of a nursing home still (to me anyway)

LaTangerina · 17/09/2022 09:22

Meredith is the lesser of two evils ...
Sorry 😂
