Raya
Ruby

Baby girl due soon we are stuck on these names to give her for a first name. We want one starting with the letter R. Which one of these names do you like best? If there are other name suggestions that begin with R that would be helpful. Thanks

From your list Ruby, but my favourite is Rhiannon.

KirstenBlest · 18/04/2023 13:47

@Coodwut , you could have called him René.

Coodwut · 18/04/2023 13:44

I wanted to use Renee but had a boy

MargauxM · 18/04/2023 13:41

Lots of lovely names there, I have always been fond of Rachel/ Rachael. Some other R names I think are good:

Romy
Raphaelle/ Raphaela
Rose
Renata
Ruth

KirstenBlest · 18/04/2023 13:19

Rachael - like
Rosie - like but a bit twee
Ria - ok but Mia is so overused. Rita is more punchy
Raya - nothingy
Ruby - ok
Raven - raving
Roxy - awful
Rhianna - made up from Rhian + Anna. Will be written as Rihanna. Rhian doesn't start with R

Suggestions:

Roshni
Roisin

R names for baby girl ...
Rose
Rowena
Rachael
Rebecca
Rosemary
Raphaella
Robin

Fushia123 · 17/04/2023 23:47

I love Rebecca - my daughter’s name.
Also, Ruth - my sister’s name.

I’ve taught hundreds of primary aged children. Every Rebecca has been just delightful - funny and caring.

soulinablackberrypie · 17/04/2023 23:30

I like Rachael from your list but would probably spell it Rachel as everyone will assume it's spelt that way anyway.

Rosie is OK, but I like Rosalie better and would possibly go for Rosalie with the option of shortening to Rosie. Kind of like Rosalind and Rosamund too, but not as much as Rosalie (and the actual meanings have nothing to do with roses!)

I love Ruth and quite like Rebecca.

Kind of like Romy and it could be short for Romilly.

33goingon64 · 17/04/2023 23:19

Rosa

Would have been DS1 or DS2 if either had been a girl (obviously not both!)

Zola1 · 17/04/2023 21:54

Lots of people saying Rowena which to me is a Nanas name but not the pretty kind!

Zola1 · 17/04/2023 21:50

Rosa, Rose, Rosie are all nice
Loads of them sound very 90s..hate Rachel or Rebecca I'm 31 and they sound like my classmates. Ruby is very over done.

I really like Remi, Romy, Roma, Romany, Romalie, Ruiari/Rory, Reeva, River
(Reeva and River are faves)

Enko · 17/04/2023 21:43

Rowena
Raine
Ramona

First 2 were on our short list's dh said no to no3 but I love it
