Classic/not too popular names for a girl

We're expecting a baby girl in November but are really struggling to decide on a name. We like well-known but not overly trendy names but can't find one that stands out, and we thought we would have some picked out by now (8 weeks until due date)!

Do you have any thoughts on our current list, and would you suggest any others?

Elizabeth (was always our favourite, now a bit worried about using it and also can't agree which nn we would use!)
Beatrice (both love Bea but not sure if the full name is a bit awkward to say)
Eleanor (dh loves but I know loads of Ellies so don't really want the nn)
Rosanna (dh would prefer just Rosie but I'd like a formal option for her)
Imogen
Felicity
Hazel
Florence (I know it's my sister's favourite name but she's not planning kids imminently so would you consider anyway?)
Daisy (all our parents & grandparents suggest this and dh is starting to like it - I'm thinking maybe middle name though? I'm worried it will always sound like a little girl's name)

I also love the name Harriet but our surname sounds a bit like Apricot, so I don't think that works, and likewise a lot of names ending in 'a' don't seem to flow very well.

Hoping some fresh eyes and thoughts will help!

Florence, Imogen and Bea are absolutely everywhere (round here anyway) so I’d avoid. I like Rosanna, can picture it as easily on a little one as on an adult.

Elizabeth is a great timeless name. Even if there are a few more of them at the moment it still won't date like other names.

Eleanor is a gorgeous name. I almost called my daughter that. I don't like Ellie either so was going to go for Nora

Daisy doesn't seem to fit with your other choices.

bluebunnyblue · 14/09/2022 17:29

Florence and Imogen are quite popular compared to the others, at least round here.

You could use Margaret with Daisy as a nickname...?

We had several of your names on our shortlist and similar criteria (traditional but not too popular) and we ended up with dd1 being Catherine and dd2 being Frances. In both cases we weren't sure until they were born.

Catherine

Elizabeth could shorten to Eliza.
we have an Isabella, shortened to Izzie

Eleanor (dh loves but I know loads of Ellies so don't really want the nn)

Oops didn’t notice this, but one nickname for Eleanor is Nora. You don’t have to let it be shortened to Ellie or Ella.

Dreamingof3 · 14/09/2022 17:24

My favourite from your list would be imogen or Hazel

How about Rosina or Rosalie for nn Rosie?

Rodion · 14/09/2022 17:23

I like your list, probably like Imogen and Florence best.

Other ideas:
Josephine
Susannah
Claudia
Alice
Joanna
