Thoughts? For a girl, obviously (though who knows these days) surname is 3 syllables and common. Will be sister to Ivo.

Nice! But I like plant names anyway. My husband put a veto on all my horticultural themed name ideas. Damn him.

SilverOtter · 08/09/2022 21:01

I love it 💕

Chakraleaf · 08/09/2022 21:00

My cats name. We call her nipper!

HerRoyalNotness · 08/09/2022 20:59

We have it as a MN and DD loves it. Probably should have just named her that for FN

TooHotToTangoToo · 08/09/2022 20:59

I like it

beccahamlet · 08/09/2022 20:58

I love it.

Purplemoon19 · 08/09/2022 20:57

I also find it painfully trendy. I also really don’t like the ‘nipper’ sound

chineapplepunks · 08/09/2022 20:33

Love it!!! Top of the list for whenever we have baby 2!

mycatisannoying · 08/09/2022 20:31

I don't like it. It sounds like a name you'd give to a cow or horse.

Fleur405 · 08/09/2022 20:30

I don’t usually like nature inspired names like willow and rowan. I do however really like Juniper (almost as much as I like gin)

BuffaloCauliflower · 08/09/2022 20:30

@toastofthetown I’m not on Reddit so I’ve not seen that, but I’m sure it’s the same here, certain names will get mentioned a lot as likes/suggestions, but actually rarely used in the real world. I’ve looked it up on the ONS and it was used 87 times in 2020, ranked 460 something, so actually very little use.

Ivo crops up here fairly regularly in suggestions but is hardly used in practice

Love it.

Thereisnoname · 08/09/2022 20:25

I know a Juniper but uses Juni which I slightly prefer. Its a nice name as different as a name but people can pronounce and spell it.

curiouscatgotkilled · 08/09/2022 20:24

Love it!!

toastofthetown · 08/09/2022 20:22

It's cute but almost painfully trendy. It has such a moment on the naming subreddit a few years ago that it's pretty much a meme name there now and so it feels a but tired to me, even though it's not actually been that popular. I far prefer just June (though Junia is my favourite Jun- name, but in my non-rhotic accent it sounds just like junior).

I did say on a visit to a gin distillery though that if we had triplet girls I'd call them Juniper, Cassia and Angelica as I'm sure I'm need gin to cope, so the botanical theme would work well.

BuffaloCauliflower · 08/09/2022 20:15

@Pixilicious1 yes we’d probably use Juni. I’m also not usually one for not name names either, my style is mostly ‘proper names but uncommonly used’, but somehow Juniper has got up there. And DH loves it.

Pixilicious1 · 08/09/2022 20:12

Love it. And I’m not one for names that aren’t names. Also love Juni as a nickname

BuffaloCauliflower · 08/09/2022 20:12

@halfsiesonapotnoodle I wasn’t sure about that at first too to be honest. In my accent it’s more Juni-per than Ju-niper, but I know it won’t be the same for all

OP posts:
halfsiesonapotnoodle · 08/09/2022 20:09

Nice but I'm not keen on the 'nipper' sound in it.

PhillyJoe · 08/09/2022 20:09

I really like it!

BuffaloCauliflower · 08/09/2022 20:08

@piglet81 any other weird botanical names to offer? We like a nature related name

OP posts:
BuffaloCauliflower · 08/09/2022 20:08

@Ahf22 I like that it has a lot of nickname potential, would give her choice.

BuffaloCauliflower · 08/09/2022 20:07

@DramaAlpaca I like Juno too, but yes we’ve used up our o ending names quota I think. I love names that end in o in general

OP posts:
SummerBummers · 08/09/2022 20:07

Horrible name IMO.

BuffaloCauliflower · 08/09/2022 20:06

@inappropriateraspberry I’m a fan of gin so that’s a fine connection for me!
