Thoughts? I think I quite like it. A rare floral name of a Christmas orchid

It's really pretty terrible, willies aside.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 06/09/2022 07:06

Winika is also not a million miles from an insult that the school bullies could seize on - one, erm, relating to excessive personal use of the aforementioned willy.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 06/09/2022 07:03

Gary Lineker eating a packet of Salt 'n' Vinegar whilst operating a spinnaker in Dominica, owned by Astra-Zeneca, like he just dinnae care.

frenchie4002 · 06/09/2022 04:53

Lol! Yep definitely agree on the willy front. And also see why Gary Lineker comes to mind! 😂

My first thought was Gary Lineker 😆

Then a penis of course.

VickerishAllsort · 05/09/2022 21:08

Penis here too

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 05/09/2022 12:18

I always understood 'winnit' (with various spellings) as being a synonym for a dagtail, dingleberry or bum-barnacle!

ChagSameachDoreen · 05/09/2022 10:02

Reminds me of "winnet" - bellybutton fluff.

Dreamingcats · 05/09/2022 07:41

I didn't think of willy, but still not keen. I think it sounds like a made up blend of Winnie and Annika.

ScarlettnotOHara · 05/09/2022 07:21

Another one who thought of Wille Wonka 😂

Awful, sorry. The poor kid would be teased endlessly.

MissCrowley · 05/09/2022 07:07

She'd probably get called Willy wonka too.. or Willy wanker.. (when she hits high school)

I was picked on a lot for my name. It wasn't even that bad.
When I had kids I wanted unusual names however I'd sit there for a while and picture myself as a 15 year old with that name and thought of all the ways in which other kids could take the piss.

One of my kids still has an unusual name, however you'd be hard pushed to come up with something really horrific for it.

IaltagDhubh · 04/09/2022 20:54

Makes me think of Winky the house elf.

tattychicken · 04/09/2022 20:51

Nope that's not a name.

liveforsummer · 04/09/2022 20:51

Willy wonka came to mind first of all which also ties in to penis association. Definitely one to avoid

Theyellowshorts · 04/09/2022 20:50

I know someone who has a similar type of name (ends in the ika) and they hate their name. No one can pronounce it properly.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 04/09/2022 20:50

I can well imagine it turning up in that advert as one of the many euphemisms before the man starts angrily shouting "Dong! Dong! Dong! Dong!"

SeasonFinale · 04/09/2022 20:49

Winky-Wanka.

Not my choice but each to their own

frenchie4002 · 04/09/2022 20:49

Haha agreed the willy association is too strong!

OP posts:
Sandysandwich · 04/09/2022 20:48

Makes me think of Winnetka, the town and also the band The Winnetka Bowling League

ArtyChoc · 04/09/2022 20:47

Winika- penis
Orchid- testicle

Not the connotation I’d pick for my daughter 😁

TheTeddyBears · 04/09/2022 20:45

First thoughts winky too please don't do that to a child!

Hummingturd · 04/09/2022 20:44

Awful. Truly truly awful.

There's been many a thread on here by adults who have resented their parents for their unusual unique names that pther people haven't been able to pronounce right, or silly offensive nicknames are made from them, or resulted in years of bullying etc.

Don't call your child this. They'll resent you for it in later life.

resuwen · 04/09/2022 20:43

Sister to Balonz?
