Cleo!

Ivy is really chavvy in my opinion. Cleo is classy.

CormoranStrike · 03/09/2022 21:35

Cleo - beautiful
ivy - old lady, and not in a chic way

MrsToadflax · 03/09/2022 21:35

Cleo

Firebird83 · 03/09/2022 21:26

Cleo

Jeschara · 03/09/2022 18:11

Cleo sounds much nicer.

knackeredagain · 03/09/2022 09:11

I love both, so I’d wait till I met her. I think you’ll just get a feeling of which is her name once you have her in your arms.

SaffieSoph · 03/09/2022 09:09

Another vote for Cleo - love it! It's such a beautiful and strong name. I much prefer it to Ivy - I know a few Ivys and agree with the other posters that there are a lot of variations of this name. It's pretty but not as nice as Cleo IMO.

Mouk · 03/09/2022 08:41

Ivy

Luredbyapomegranate · 03/09/2022 01:38

Cleo has more spark

Ivy is perfectly nice though

DramaAlpaca · 03/09/2022 01:26

I like both, but I think I'd have to choose Cleo.

Cleo by miles.

I know Ivy is very popular right now, but I've never liked it. Old ladyish, harsh sound, means a parasitic plant.

This! Love Cleo

Katnissx · 02/09/2022 19:55

I think both names are lovely, I would go for Cleo because of the popularity of Ivy xx

frenchie4002 · 02/09/2022 19:52

LOVE the name Ivy. It’s on my list too but the fact it’s trending puts me off

RuthW · 02/09/2022 12:11

Both nice. Cleo my fav though.

MinnieMouseclubhouse · 02/09/2022 11:44

Ivy

There is are loads of Cleos around here! 😂

EleanorShellstrop28 · 02/09/2022 11:44

Cleo

Ivy pretty but overdone

WishDragon · 02/09/2022 11:39

Cleo for sure.

I really don’t like Ivy and agree it’s too popular and just blends in with all the Evie/Ava/Eva names that are everywhere.

FayCarew · 02/09/2022 11:17

Trend for Ivy

It's probably become so popular because people already had an Evie/Ava/Eva in their family/friendship group

fantasmasgoria1 · 02/09/2022 11:16

Cleo is a much nicer name. When I hear the name ivy I think of little old ladies in tan tights and Permed white hair.

TempsPerdu · 02/09/2022 11:15

Cleo - so much nicer and more distinctive imo. Ivy is OK but just blends in with all the Evies, Evas and Avas. And I find the -o sound on the end of Cleo gives it more strength, while Ivy feels a bit insipid.

ThePurpleOctopus · 02/09/2022 11:08

Ah, I was hoping for a clear consensus!! Grin Darn it.

I probably slightly prefer Ivy, but I would definitely prefer a less popular name, which is the main drawback of Ivy.

It'll almost certainly be one of these two, so just need to decide.

Thanks all!

I've always loved Ivy but it's insanely popular - I know about five baby Ivy's.

Based on that I would go with Cleo.

ellenpartridge · 02/09/2022 10:17

Ivy

FayCarew · 02/09/2022 10:11

Cleo. Ivy Tilsley and all the Evie/Eva/Ava/Ivy type names are everywhere and are so samey

Pemba · 02/09/2022 09:56

Cleo by miles.

I know Ivy is very popular right now, but I've never liked it. Old ladyish, harsh sound, means a parasitic plant.
