Nolene
Sorrelle
Heather

Emile
Lucian
Elias

The rest are a no from me.

Maireas · 30/08/2022 17:23

Maurice and Lucian are nice names - a little bit more unusual but not too left field.

dalisdrippingclock · 30/08/2022 14:32

I know 2 female Aubreys, one is a teenager and the other an adult. They are definitely not Audreys.

I know 2 male Aubreys. Age irrelevant

Hobbesmanc · 30/08/2022 15:15

Nolene is just too Neighbours for me. I don't really like many of those ene or ine names- Charlene, Maureen, Janine etc.

Audrey gorgeous- Aubrey not so. Heather is deffo fifties but it is still a pretty flower name. What about Erica- that's Latin for heather the plant.

Lucius rather than Lucian? Love Victor and maybe Maurice spelt Morris?

ofwarren · 30/08/2022 14:38

Heather and Elias for me

dalisdrippingclock · 30/08/2022 14:32

Maireas · 29/08/2022 23:57

It is a boy's name.
I think people get muddled with Audrey.

I always thought Aubrey was a boy's name?

Girls:
Nolene - never heard this name. Assuming it's No-leen, I don't like it.
Nolwen - never heard this either. Is it Welsh? Not sure I like it.
Sorrelle - I like Sorrel. Is this said the same or is it different?
Aubrey - love it. People on here always say it's a boys name but that hasn't been true for at least 20 years. There are vastly more female children and teens called Aubrey than boys. It's really rare for a boy now.
Heather - quite like it. Bit dated but I don't think that matters really.

Boys:
Emile - It's ok. I taught one once and his nickname was Dinner (A meal) which would really put me off.
Maurice - not keen at all. Seems like an older man's name.
Victor - also a bit old mannish but prefer it to Maurice.
Lucian - don't like it. I quite like Lucas or even Luke.
Elias - like it. And really like Eli as a nickname.

I would go with Aubrey and Elias.

I like Sorrel and Heather as plant names. Not sure about Sorrelle as that takes away the plant association for me. I think your boy names are quite cool. Not sure about Maurice.

Luredbyapomegranate · 29/08/2022 15:05

I don’t like any of your girl names - Heather is OK and Sorrel is too if you spell it normally, but Noelene and Nolwenn are very ugly and sound like depressed 70 year old barmaids

Alternatives - Olwen, Arwen, Gwen, Laurel, Audrey

Of your boy names, I really like Lucian, and also Elias - but latter is very popular right now. Quite like Victor. Maurice is sort of cute. Really don’t like Emile.

KirstenBlest · 29/08/2022 09:50

Sorrelle and Cerelle sound very similar, @polkadotpixie

Not in my accent they don't...

Sorrel - Sorrull
Cerelle - Seh-relle

EleanorShellstrop28 · 29/08/2022 13:42

Girls:
Nolene - definitely no
Nolwen - definitely no
Sorrelle - A quick Google showed me that this name is Italian for 'sisters' and also several brands/businesses. Other than that it doesn't seem to be a name?
Aubrey - Aubrey is too 'Teen Mom' (as in the TV show), but Audrey is lovely
Heather - pretty, I think it will make a comeback

Boys:
Emile - meh
Maurice - definitely no
Victor - meh
Lucian - quite cool
Elias - LOVE

I'd choose Elias for sure from the boy's and AuDrey from the girl's.

KirstenBlest · 29/08/2022 09:50

Sorrelle and Cerelle sound very similar, @polkadotpixie

polkadotpixie · 29/08/2022 09:24

I like Sorrel (but not Sorrelle), it's not the name of a contraceptive, that's Cerelle 🤣

I also like Aubrey

From your boys list I only like Elias, Luc or Luca would be fine but Lucian will get kids taking the piss and calling him Lucy

TenThousandSpoons · 29/08/2022 08:41

Heather and Victor if I had to choose.
Prefer Hazel for a girl as pp suggested.

Or Aubrey but for a boy. I also know a boy Sorrell.

Emile looks feminine to me - Emil better for a boy.

Beautifulsunflowers · 29/08/2022 07:43

I know a Sorrell and she’s fabulous so I’d go for that.
Victor is cool too or Elias from your boys list.

PurBal · 29/08/2022 07:40

I like Heather and Elias best.

I love Aubrey but it is very much a boys name IMO.

dalisdrippingclock · 29/08/2022 07:37

Love all of the boys names apart from Maurice.
Girls names: Sorelle and Aubrey are really pretty. Sadly two real life Heathers have put me right off that name - how about Hazel?

KirstenBlest · 29/08/2022 07:37

Nolene - Noelene is better
Nolwen - it's Nolwenn
Sorrelle - sounds like a contraceptive pill
Aubrey - boy's name
Heather - ok

Emile - prefer Emil (Em-il not Emeel)
Maurice - Morris or Morreese?
Victor - love
Lucian - Lucy Ann
Elias - too long as 1st name, and I don't like Eli as a diminutive

Nolwenn and Victor

CousinLucy · 29/08/2022 07:34

We have different tastes. I wouldn't choose any of your girls' names, but I do like turn in as much as they aren't frilly and excessively girly (which is why I like names like Sarah and Susannah and Rachel and not Lilly, Ava, Olivia, Emilia and so on.)

I very much like Emile and Elias.

Fetacinno81 · 29/08/2022 07:32

Also, sorrelle I'm sure in the name of a contraceptive implant or pill! Sorry!

Fetacinno81 · 29/08/2022 07:31

Totally depends on your taste as I don't particularly like any of these names but might fit in with your family names, surname, area you live etc.

In the other hand you would probably think my baby name list is awful too! (Very far the opposite way)

PinkButtercups · 29/08/2022 07:30

I like*

PinkButtercups · 29/08/2022 07:29

Aubrey.

I've also chosen Aubrey and another girls A name like for the twins (unsure of sex)!

Merryclaire · 29/08/2022 07:28

Like Heather and Elias best
