Awful.
Marianne is the best.
Marian?
Marilyn?

padfootlives · 07/09/2022 19:24

Marianne is the only one I'd consider. It's lovely.
Miriam would be quite sweet as mimi. But not keen on its own.

Newmum110 · 07/09/2022 19:23

Love Stella, like Miriam, the other 2 wouldn't be for me.

wishing3 · 07/09/2022 19:18

Ooh,some more positives for Miriam-thanks.

Miriam is my favourite!

Then Helena, Marianne, Stella in that order.

wishing3 · 07/09/2022 19:07

I like Anthea too but suspect I’m in the minority?

Thanks-I do like Rosamund/Lind but we have one floral name already. They’re definitely all the right vibe though.

Miriam - love this name

Stella - not my taste

Helena - gorgeous, but she will get different pronunciations

Marianne - nice

ladygindiva · 06/09/2022 22:34

I like them all
Love Marianne the most

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 06/09/2022 22:31

Suggestions that are not ending in a vowel sound and well known, yet fairly uncommon and are elegant/not too cutesy imo:

Juliet
Rosalind
Rosamund
Josephine
Jessamine (may be too uncommon?)
Christabel (ditto)
Emmeline

  1. Marianne
  2. Helena
  3. Miriam

Gun to my head: Stella

This

wishing3 · 04/09/2022 17:53

Thanks! I dunno-think I might have gone off Marianne a bit. I like it if a think of it as one name but if I hear it as two stuck together I’m not keen. I probably like Stella most as a name, but I don't think I’d use now as it does seem to spark some bad reactions (grateful for them though-it’s best to know!).

Would you like any suggestions?

Would love suggestions please!
I’d like something elegant, probably not ending in a vowel sound, not too common but people have heard of it, and not too try hard or cutesy if that makes sense.

Love Marieanne.

Dislike the rest.

Whichwhatnow · 31/08/2022 07:24

Marianne and Stella are lovely! Not overly keen on the other two but they're fine, not terrible at all.

Have you thought about Estrella? One of the most amazing women I've ever met had that name and I love it! Maybe not if you have no Spanish or Portuguese connections though

ThatshallotBaby · 31/08/2022 07:23

Would you like any suggestions?

ThatshallotBaby · 31/08/2022 07:22

I love them. Marianne, Stella, Helena then Miriam.
what’s your favourite @wishing3 ?

CastleTower · 31/08/2022 07:16

I like all of these. My favourite is Marianne and least favourite is Miriam, though it's still nice.

Miriam is one of those names I disliked but actually it has grown on me quite a lot. :)

Hobbesmanc · 30/08/2022 11:05

I love Stella and Estelle. Strong but characterful choices. Miriam is strong biblical name.

Depends on the pronunciation of Helena. If it's Helen a. Great. Less so hel ey na.

Marianne is cute. What about Annalise

TenThousandSpoons · 30/08/2022 08:40

Helena is my favourite although there are at least 3 different ways to pronounce it which might get annoying for her.

Stella I like too. Due a comeback maybe?

Miriam - not keen. Hard to pronounce for children so will be Miwium for a few years.

Marianne - not keen. Prefer other Anne names.

ParsleyPesto · 30/08/2022 06:22

I like them. Miriam then Stella.

yikesanotherbooboo · 30/08/2022 06:17

Marianne ,I slightly prefer Mary Ann
Helena
Miriam
Stella
