Lennon?

Am I crazy? Have pregnancy hormones gone wild? 38 weeks pregnant and suddenly absolutely in love with the name Lennon for a girl. DH thinks I've lost the plot but if she was born this minute, I'd be so tempted! We haven't agreed on a name yet which probably doesn't help. Please tell me if this is acceptable or not (I'm assuming not but I need to check on the off chance anyone likes it 😂). Also I'm foreseeing some Beatles comments, I like them but never been a big fan though DF loved them!

He was not a very nice man (putting it mildly).

Quite. Hugely talented and influential, but not someone you'd want to be friends with.

I dont like the name full stop. Awful to saddle a girl with it.

miamiibiza · 29/08/2022 07:59

I taught a little girl called Lennie this year. Love it

Malie · 29/08/2022 07:53

Remember a child has to live with the name you choose. You don’t choose a name to indulge a whim of yours. In any case if you look at the life of John Lennon he was not a very savoury character anyway. I love Mozart’s music but I wouldn’t name my kid Wolfgang

FitAt50 · 29/08/2022 07:48

It's very chavy and I can hear it being shouted across a crowded B&M carpark.

KangarooKenny · 29/08/2022 07:40

I don’t like it for either sex.

KirstenBlest · 29/08/2022 07:38

it's a surname. Naff for a boy, dreadful for a girl

MsTSwift · 28/08/2022 08:28

There are so many lovely girls names beginning with L. Pick one of them.

Penguinsaregreat · 28/08/2022 08:22

It’s a no from me. Bad enough for a boy but absolutely not for a girl. It’s what one of the Gallagher’s named his son after John Lennon.
She will forever have to repeat her name and then clarify; no my parents are not huge fans of the Beatles.

sashh · 28/08/2022 03:02

I'm a Red Dwarf fan.

It's the name of one of Dave Lister's artificial goldfish.

Lemon is cuter

when I’m in active posts I keep seeing this thread and reading lemon 🍋

DramaAlpaca · 28/08/2022 02:53

Lennon for a girl? No.

A couple of others have suggested Lennox, it's not my thing but is a good suggestion. I've seen it spelled Lenox too, the girl was from the US.

Iflyaway · 28/08/2022 02:02

God no.

Reminds me of that awful Tommy Robinson creep.

John Lennon was great though.

Sorry, Awful!! Also in Scotland its connected to Celtic football club, and then also to religion. Celtic and rangers fandom is deeply rooted in Catholic vs protestant.

What about Lemon, Lumen or Lyra?

I know a boy called Lennon Henrik...

Lennon is not a good name for a girl, OP.

AuntTwacky · 28/08/2022 00:28

No way

YKND · 28/08/2022 00:26

Bad idea. As are any names associated with one historical individual.

Suzy14837 · 28/08/2022 00:22

Maybe save it for a middle name

or your next pet

maddy68 · 28/08/2022 00:12

I love the name

JohnsShirt · 28/08/2022 00:10

Don't be ridiculous

Pieceofpurplesky · 28/08/2022 00:07

Lainie

YellowRoad · 28/08/2022 00:06

Eh, no. Especially for a girl. Especially if you're not a Beatles fan.

GlassDeli · 28/08/2022 00:05

Eleanor, Helen, Emma, Lena, Alannah, Manon?

PurpleBrocadePeacock · 28/08/2022 00:00

I think of it as a boys name.

I did, however, come 🤏 this close to naming my dd Leni short for Eleanor. (I am however a Beatles fan).

(My fantasy future daughter would be Penny after Penny Lane).

There's a singer named Lennon Stella who played Maddy in Nashville, she carries it off quite well. I quite like it.

I came on to say this. She's great.
