Thoughts on the name Indie? What middle name would you pair?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I think India with the nickname Indie. Indie is a nn for India, it's not a standalone name.

autienotnaughty · 22/08/2022 03:20

I love it. Grace would work well. Or Amelia.

Panicmode1 · 22/08/2022 03:17

I know two. But they are dogs, so I don't see it as a serious name for a child.

It's OK as a nickname, but I wouldn't use it on the birth certificate as 'the name'.

ButterRose · 22/08/2022 03:17

I would use Indiana or India on the BC and Indie as a nn

Please don’t. It’s so try hard (we are cool parents, totally, yeah) and it will date like fuck. Give her a proper name.

This.

Give her a real name.

She won't be a toddler forever.

BritInAus · 22/08/2022 02:50

I really like it. But for the love of god, please not May/Mae/Mai as a middle name!

Pemba · 22/08/2022 02:27

Awful. India if you must (could be Indie for short) I don't like that really but at least it's more like a real name.

SurpriseSurprise · 22/08/2022 02:07

It just makes me think of a dogs name.

This, I’m afraid.

DD's best friend is Indi ( no e ). I love it, it really suits her sparkly personality.

ReeseWitherfork · 22/08/2022 02:00

I know an Indigo who goes by Indy. Not my cup of tea but not horrendous. Similar vibes to Willow, River, Juniper… which all seem to go down OK.

GrimDamnFanjo · 22/08/2022 01:56

Indy - Indiana Jones!

J0y · 22/08/2022 01:29

I prefer Lindy

gardenmumma · 22/08/2022 01:23

I love it.
Not a fan of Mae, rose ect.

Indie Juliet
Indie Lucille
Indie Celeste
Indie Veronica
Indie Jasmine

mogwa · 21/08/2022 22:13

I don't see it as being a real name with substance.

StarCourt · 21/08/2022 22:05

I
Love the name it's why I named my dog Indie

DramaAlpaca · 21/08/2022 21:19

It's got a bit of a 'trying so hard to be cool' vibe, plus it's twee. Not my style.

mathanxiety · 21/08/2022 21:18

I would use India or Indya on the BC and Indie as a nickname.

Middle names:
Alexandra
Alicia
Alannah
Elspeth
Emmeline
Evelyn
Isabella
Olivia
Octavia

I think names starting with vowels work best.

historygeek12 · 21/08/2022 21:16

I have an Indianna who is nearly 30 ! we call her indie for short

pinklavenders · 21/08/2022 21:15

Or short for Indian?

pinklavenders · 21/08/2022 21:15

Sounds like short for Independent. Not a nice name imo.

Wowitshot · 21/08/2022 21:13

The only Indy I know is a boy

winterchills · 21/08/2022 21:01

I love it !!

Sherrystrull · 21/08/2022 20:28

Indie-Anna
