Sister for Teddy

Our son is called Theodore but we call him Teddy. Looking for a girls name for his sister, so far here is our list that we both like, but we don’t have a clear favourite.

Maeve
Poppy
Pippa
Mabel

What’s your thoughts on these names? Any other suggestions?

I know several dogs with the above names, and while I say that not not to put you off, it definitely has that connotation for me!

Personally, I think Teddy's sister would be called Eliza 😊

Maeve is VERY in right now. I know of at least 3 (might not sound a lot but considering a year ago I didn’t know any haha). Possibly because of the tv show The Boys as there’s a Maeve in that.

Maeve or Mabel from your list

I also like Moira, Nieve and Maeva

Maeve is lovely

I wouldn't go for another 2 syllable - y sound. Put off Pippa with Teddy for the same reason.

I like Mabel and I love the name Maeve.

I love Mabel.

My first thought was Mathilda. Theodore and Mathilda as proper names, Teddy and Tilly as nick names. Possible veering towards cutesy but I think it works.

Teddy & Mabel sounds lovely - I don't think I'd go for another 'y' ending name (Poppy)

Maeve or Mabel

Careylisa · 21/08/2022 07:29

Out of those I like Maeve.
I have a friend with a Theodore/Teddy and their daughter I'd Josephine/Josie which I think is lovely 😊

DD1 is Pippa, Teddy is what we would have called DD2.
