Twin for Miles

Hi,
Due boy girl twins soon, and have chosen Miles for the boy. We would like for the names to match in some way (same letter/meaning etc.). Any suggestions for girls names to match with Miles would be great thanks!
(Also, Miles or Myles, not quite decided yet?!)

Miles and Nerys
Miles and Salome
Miles and Helena

I know a Myles with sisters Millie and Madeleine. A bit too many Ms for my taste though.

I prefer Myles spelling as to me it looks like a name more than Miles which looks the unit of distance if that makes sense!

Suggestions
Myles and Ruby
Myles and Merryn
Myles and Claudia
Myles and Lydia
Myles and Julia
Myles and Charlotte
Myles and Grace
Myles and Marnie

Miles and Maisie.

Especially if you have a brother called Buck.

Lancelottie · 17/08/2022 11:59

Although Luna is a nice name, it's the nice name of a great many labradors and poodlydoodles round our area.

Miles and Freya or Miles and Anna sound good to me, but does your surname sound OK with those?

KirstenBlest · 17/08/2022 11:55

Miles and Anna
Miles and Laura
Miles and Emma
Miles and Fleur

KirstenBlest · 17/08/2022 11:54

Mole is so cute! I want a Mole.

Miles and Rosa

Kilometres? Or is that a boys’ name? :p

Miles and Jessie
Miles and Caitlin
Miles and Orla
Moles and Francesca

My first thought, thank you for not letting me be the only one!

Jokes aside, Miles is a lovely name!

KirstenBlest · 17/08/2022 10:58

Miles and Flora are both lovely but is a bit too Henry James

Miles and Margot too matchy-matchy. I don't like Margot or Luna.
Stella is a good choice

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 17/08/2022 10:47

Miles and Hannah
Miles and Freya

cupcakes99 · 17/08/2022 10:41

Zara. Came to my mind for some reason. Also like the Lydia and Stella suggestion

SycamoreTall · 17/08/2022 08:34

I like the battle/strength suggestions above.

As Miles is Latin, another Roman (or otherwise ancient) name would be good for a very subtle match.

Flora
Claudia
Julia
Maria (obviously there is the biblical one, but also a Roman family name, meaning "of Mars")
Luna
Maia (Roman goddess)
Beatrix
Elissa (Dido's alternative name)
Anna (an ancient Italian goddess)

StanleyBostitch · 17/08/2022 08:25

When you're thinking of names, make sure you practice them both ways, so Girl and Miles, as well as Miles and Girl.

unname · 17/08/2022 08:24

HeartofTeFiti · 17/08/2022 05:54

Miles and Matilda
Miles and Maria

or my absolute favourite, Miles and Madeleine

Miles and Madeleine - love this

LittleGreenBeetle · 17/08/2022 08:22

I prefer Miles to Myles 100%
There are some good girl suggestions here already. As much as I like the idea of them both starting with an M, I think PP's are right about too much potential for confusion

Greenandcabbagelooking · 17/08/2022 08:18

Kilometres? Or is that a boys’ name? :p

Miles and Jessie
Miles and Caitlin
Miles and Orla
Moles and Francesca

napody · 17/08/2022 08:15

Miles and Emily are good... almost an anagram and sound good together.
Definitely Miles not Myles

DuchessOfSausage · 17/08/2022 08:14

Nothing starting with M or with a matching sound, so not Isla, Lila etc. They are individuals.
Prefer the Miles spelling

Luredbyapomegranate · 17/08/2022 08:09

Well Miles means solider and Matilda and Maude (different versions of the same name) mean battle ready so that would be a good combo

Louise / Louisa means warrior

Audrey means strong

Honor obviously means honour

Freya and Minerva are goddesses of war

Stella, Flora, Emma, Alice, Edith, Sarah, Anna, Elsbeth all just go well

I’d say just go for Miles as it’ll be easier for him, unless you go for Myles and Lydia which I agree w PP is nice - or Myles and Freya maybe. The Myles spelling has been around for a while, it’s more popular in Ireland I think.

MsMcGonagall · 17/08/2022 08:07

I wouldn't go for the same initial I think. Too much potential for confusion around labels, post, application forms etc when they are in the same school year and have the same birth date.
