Which girls name do you prefer?

Here comes my third kid, another girl! I need help narrowing down my short list into a shorter list. I like sort of flowery fancy names. I really want a name that can be shortened, the more the better. I also like names with nice meanings. Pick one or suggest your own:

Crystalina (Crystal - I love crystals (Greek for ice))
Elouisa (Louisa, Ellie, Louise (Old German for famous warrior woman))
Elizabeth (Lizzie, Izzy, Betty, Ellie, Beth, Eliza, Lizziebeth - my mum was called Elizabeth)
Adora (Dora (Means a gift or beloved)
Isadora (Issy, Dora (means gift from Isis in Greek)

Thanks,
Eliode

Isadora Elizabeth is beautiful and seems to fit your criteria perfectly (and compliments your other DDs names)

I'm really not keen on Crystallina or Adora

alittleadvicepls · 17/08/2022 07:17

Isadora, Eloise or Theadora!

DaisyJoy1 · 17/08/2022 07:14

If the name was "Eloise" I'd vote for that as it's lovely. But Elouisa looks like a misspelling/you got confused between Eloise and Louisa?

Elizabeth and Eloise lovely.

DaisyJoy1 · 17/08/2022 07:13

Only like Elizabeth. Crystalina sounds like a cleaning product and Adora like a feminine hygeine product

17caterpillars1mouse · 16/08/2022 19:47

Crystalina - I like Crystal but not Crystalina. I once worked with a child called Christabel too which you might like?

Elouisa - not a fan

Elizabeth (Lizzie, Izzy, Betty, Ellie, Beth, Eliza, Lizziebeth - my mum was called Elizabeth) - a classic, it's lovely. I like Beth or Betsy best as a shortening

Adora - not a fan

Isadora - love it

A few suggestions

Pandora
Paloma
Magnolia
Evangeline or Evangelina
Angelica
Arabella
Sapphira
Seraphina
Mirabel / Mirabelle
Anastasia
Rafaella

Sudename · 16/08/2022 19:44

What about Theadora - you could shorten it to Thea, Teddy, Dora

Shutupyoutart · 16/08/2022 19:40

Elizabeth or Isadora out of your own list. Some others you may like Adrianna , Ariana Alyssa, elize, Esme, aria

drpet49 · 16/08/2022 19:16

Isadora

Mamapep · 16/08/2022 19:15

Isadora, Eloisa or Elizabeth.

Hobbesmanc · 16/08/2022 18:59

Elizabeth is just a total classic. I love Betty or Libby for pet names

Have you considered Dorothea. It's a classical Empresses name meaning gift of God. Nick names could be Dora. Dor. Dorrie. Thea even Dolly.

PoleFairy · 16/08/2022 18:58

I think you need to do Eloisa as sticking a random "U" in is bizzare. Hate when people spell Eloise as Elouise or even worse Ellouise as its incorrect.

I love Dora but maybe not Adora. I like Isadora (assuming you are Greek). So maybe Isadora nn Dora.

CPL593H · 16/08/2022 18:57

I think Isadora Elizabeth works.

Pemba · 16/08/2022 18:55

Oh and Cristalina is also OTT. Just Crystal is quite nice

Dinosaursdontgrowontrees · 16/08/2022 18:53

Isadora Elisabeth is perfect!
Adelaide, Elaine and Isadora sound great together too!

congrats on number 3!

Pemba · 16/08/2022 18:53

I think you are thinking of Eloisa, a variation of Eloise/Heloise. Louise/Louisa has a different origin, I believe, you are mashing Louisa and Eloise together. Eloise is beautiful BTW, can't you go for that?

Isadora makes a nice change from Isabella. The only problem might be if anyone remembers the 90s kids TV show 'Wizadora'. I can here the theme tune now 'Wizadora, we adore her' ...

Adora is a bit OTT. Also seems to be forcing people to 'adore her'. Why not just Dora?

Elizabeth is always a good choice, classic with so many diminutives, Lizzie, Libby, Eliza, Beth etc

User6761 · 16/08/2022 18:46

Isadora is lovely, and Elizabeth is a classic. Prefer Eloise or Louisa to Elouisa.

Really dislike the others, sorry.

strawberry2017 · 16/08/2022 18:44

Lizziebeth - my mum was called Elizabeth)

Adora (Dora (Means a gift or beloved)
No

Isadora (Issy, Dora (means gift from Isis in Greek)

sageandbasil · 16/08/2022 18:41

I love adora! That's really pretty

Eliode2000 · 16/08/2022 18:39

Just got off from a phone call to my step-mum. She has made her own list. She has Isadora on her list so @Dinosaursdontgrowontrees I am thinking you are right. I want to have Elizabeth there, I really want to honour my mummy,
but I am leaning towards it as a middle name. My other daughters are called Adelaide and Elaine.
@NC12345665 Worry she may be called by the bullies 'Adorable' but I like it if it wasn't it. Sorry, thanks.
@CPL593H Thank you!

Elizabeth is lovely and I don't think it's flowery! I also like Isadora from your list.

If you like names beginning with Ad and El, how about Eleanora, Adelina, Adriana.

Or slightly different but similar feel, Alessia, Alicia, Christabel, Jessamy.

CPL593H · 16/08/2022 18:33

Isadora is really lovely.

NC12345665 · 16/08/2022 18:31

What about Adorabella?

Dinosaursdontgrowontrees · 16/08/2022 18:24

Isadora is absolutely wonderful!
Elisabeth is lovely (maybe a little popular depending on your other childrens names) I really like Betsy as a nn
Not that keen on the others although I do like Dora, Louisa and Eloise.

Eliode2000 · 16/08/2022 18:17

I'm thinking maybe either Isadora or Adora or Elouisa. They are all on NameBerry if you want to have a look. I like names with 'Ad' or 'El' at the beginning.
@Bluebells12 I guess you might be right with Adora. And thanks for alerting me about Crystalina!
@RuthW Thanks!
@KirstenBlest You are right about Ellie, I think. Sorry, do not agree with you on other things.
@ThereIsATInWater Yeah thinking about Elouise but i kinda like the 'A' at the end.
@FuoriComeUnBalcone Thanks. I had a colleague called it and I just really liked the name.
Thanks all

I really love Adora! Never heard it before actually.
