I've always liked Anneliese, lovely name.

Harriet I'm less keen on, but it's OK.

Anneliese is much the prettier, Harriet is a great classic but a bit harsh-sounding (makes me think of harridan).

Anneliese is such a pretty name, I don't know why it's not more popular.

I do quite like Harriet too, just not as much.

I love Harriet but it is a little pony club. Hattie is sturdy and affectionate though.

Annaliese is a lovely name. Quite Germanic like Heidi or Gretchen.

Really love them both; I went to school with an Annalise and she's the only one I've ever met or heard of! Harriet is gorgeous too IMO... is there a middle name to see which pairs with that perhaps?

Harriet is so frumpy
Anneliese would constantly get misspelled and mispronounced - just look how many people have misspelled it even on this thread which is about the name and spells it out in your OP!

They are both very different in every way I feel Harriet to me is very strong, sassy and fun loving and Anneliese is very soft feminine and frilly sounding it's really up to what you prefer but I personally love Harriet

I like both and have known both, but I think as they are 3 syllables it kind of depends what your surname is too.

@DaisyJoy1 the Harriet I know does ride horses!

Anneliese is too frilly, and will be spelt as Annaliese, Annalise, Annelise, Annalisa etc

I LOVE Anneliese! I do like Harriet, but not really the full name, so much. I just love the nickname Hattie. Harriet definely doesn't have the same beautiful vibe as Anneliese - when I think of an Anneliese, I imagine someone beautiful and interesting and well traveled and intelligent and classy. It just has such a lovely feel to it.

Harriet is nice, but a lot of people consider it a bit horsey and dull - which I suppose, in comparison to Anneliese, it is. (Again, I do like it, just don't think it can really compare to Anneliese).

Harriet, definitely.

Anneliese is fussy, frilly and many people won't be able to spell it (as this thread shows) or pronounce it correctly.
