You sound like your fondest of Nellie so go for that. Ultimately, an opinion of others matters very little. As long as a name and the initials are not offensive or embarrassing then you can't go too wrong anyway.

Harper Wren - two surnames
Harper Nellie - Nell is nice. Not keen on Nellie. Harper too surnamey
Nellie Grace - Grace is so boring as a middle name
Nellie Harper - Is your surname Lee?
Lilah/Lylah Grace - horrible. Every other Lila will be Lila Grace.

Am I right in thinking that she will have a step-sibling called Ellen?
Call her Nell nn Nellie or Nellie Jean Louise

Surname isn't Lee no 🤔
Grace is after a family member which is why it is an option for a middle name. My partners mums middle name is Jean but not, Nellie Jean makes me sing Billie Jean in my head 😂 step sister who is 21 is called Ellen yes, however has never been known as anything else and we didn't even know that it could be shortened to Nellie before coming onto mumsnet 😬

Very twee not sure why you got soo much stick for them. I think harper is lovely

DotDotDotDotDot · 12/08/2022 15:38

Lilah Grace has a lovely flow.
Maybe Lilah Nell?
I don’t dislike Harper, I just think when celebrities as well known as the Beckhams use a name it just becomes very dated and associated with them.

Also have Considered Nellie-Grace so that she has the option as she grows up to chose if she wasn't too keen on Nellie or did get mean comments about it. I know hyphenated names are a subject that has a lot of different opinions though 😬 also babies these days called Sunday, Lavender, bluebell, tiger etc so I am also thinking Nellie wouldn't be too out there by the time she goes to school and also has the option of Nell when she's older too x

Harper Wren and Nellie Grace are my favorites - although they are all lovely.

Soo originally we were going to go with Nellie Grace however didn't even cross my mind that the surname is also an N name and been told the alliteration is too much and sounds awful 😬

Lyla Grace
Harper Grace and Harper Wren would be my favourites.
I'd also suggest that Grace would make a nice first name and would go with Evie and Maddison well.

I do like Grace but I do prefer names that aren't too common. Evie and Maddison I know are fairly common but I personally don't know any but know a few Grace's, however my partner also likes Gracie as a name x

Lilah Grace is the nicest by miles, and this spelling looks nicest written down.

Harper is too Beckham and sounds like Harpic.

Nellie.. the elephant? OK as a nickname for Helen(a), Eleanor or Penelope, not great as a stand-alone name.

I didn't even know what Nellie the elephant was until very recently so I really don't think that will be an issue.. harpic never crossed my mind until now 😫

I think Nellie might not work as well as Harper or Lilah when your daughter hits that awkward teenager phase and is going through various physical changes. I know Nellie the elephant is an old reference but it is still known.

I'd pick Harper because it is more unusual than Lilah.

So either Harper Nellie or Harper Wren.

I had my heart set on using Nellie somehow as it has a lot of meaning to me. I'm considering Harper Nellie but also considering a formal version for Nellie so I can still call her Nellie but the only ones I don't particularly hate are Anneleise and Anneli but then ky partner said she would probably be named Anna/Annie

none of them are particularly my style but I think Harper Wren or Harper Grace flow best and go with your other names.
