What do you think of this name for a baby girl?
Names also on my list are Milencia and Astoria.

They're all quite unique names and all end in an "ia" sound which I love. If anyone has any similar suggestions please let me know.

@User2145738790 Maybe you should do a quick google search, it's a Latin/Roman girls name.

@QueenofDestruction Ahhh, Olencia is lovely! Thank you so much!

@User2145738790 Whether it was a piss-take or not, I like the sound of the name so I've added it to my list. Thanks though.

@Johnnysgirl Except Caledonia is an already established Latin/Roman name...

For a country. Would you name your child "England?" Or Englandia?

Thanks so much for everyones feedback and name suggestions 😊

Terezita, Colincia, Talicia, Azaria, Celestia and Caledonia are all added to my list!

😂
Colincia was a piss take.

If you're not on the wind up OP, go with Celestia or Azaria.

SpringAspen · 07/08/2022 13:10

@StillHappy I have already acknowledged that people don't like Terancia/Terencia...

Hiw about Olencia instead.

Astoria is a hotel
Milencia sounds like a baby cereal or follow on milk
I did a quick google and didn't find anything about Terancia having a greek or ancient greek origin. Myself I think it sounds like one of the brand names you see in Lidl.

@Johnnysgirl Every name is made up. Every word in every language was "made up" at some point. New words are being made up and added to the dictionary all the time.
I don't understand the snobbery behind insisting children need to have "real" / "already established" names.

No, the sad thing is that you probably don’t.

If you want to stand out in some way, maybe contribute to science, write a successful book, or do some charitable work. Being cruel to your child because you want attention is terrible.

Musmerian · 07/08/2022 13:04

How about Annunciata?

Because the alternative is some poor gobshite wandering the world introducing themselves as Caledonia?

CorvusPurpureus · 07/08/2022 13:02

Apparently he had a daughter, who would traditionally have been called Terentia. If she had sisters, they'd have been T Prima, T Secunda, T Tertia & so on...

Thayella
Jastina
Seconia
Caanelita

After the Cult of Skaro 😂

CorvusPurpureus · 07/08/2022 12:59

Roman, I'd have said, after the poet Publius Terentius Afer. Better known as Terence.

@GucciBear Just to be clear, it's an ancient Greek name and it IS the female version of the name Terrence.

Oh a Dear, I was actually joking when I suggested it was

Dalekjastninerels · 07/08/2022 12:58

I am pronouncing this as Ter ANS ia.

It sounds too close to Tarantula to me.

Arf at good old Terry being of Ancient Greek origin.

No it isn’t. Terrance isn’t an Ancient Greek name either. It’s much like Gary in that respect, or La’Keisha.

Tulipomania · 07/08/2022 12:56

Has anyone suggested Dementia yet?

A bit like Demelza but with the ending you like OP.

HuggyWuggy · 07/08/2022 12:55

How about Balonzia?

Tulipomania · 07/08/2022 12:54

This is a joke right? No-one would seriously consider such awful names.

Johnnysgirl · 07/08/2022 12:54

Yes I'm aware that Milencia is a made-up sounding name because that is the vibe I'm going for if you couldn't tell.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
I suppose there's no point in asking why made up sounding nonsense appeals to you, is there?
