Or drab?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Drab.

MissDollyMix · 30/07/2022 22:44

Awful name. Can’t stand it. I know a few Esthers and it just doesn’t seem to suit any of them.

UsernameIsHarderThanBabyName · 30/07/2022 22:43

Love it

RoseMartha · 30/07/2022 22:42

I know a little Esther. Cute name.

Awful. Granny name, not remotely cool!

It was my Granny’s name.

She was born 113 years ago. So I think Esther is long past being a Granny’s name.

In 2022, Granny names of babies and children are more likely to be Kate, Diane, Jane, Debbie, Liz, Joanne, Sue, and Caroline. I can’t imagine a newborn being given any of those names.

I don’t like it. Not a pretty name. But…. absolutely go for it if you like it! Who cares what other people think!!

Runningupthathill78 · 30/07/2022 22:33

I like it. It's unusual, not 'out there'. Wasn't someone from a girl band called Esther (thinking 90's) and I remember thinking it was unusual then and I liked it!

Biscuitsneeded · 30/07/2022 22:29

I like it. Timeless, classic, not too twee. I know a couple and they have been Essie or Ezzie as smaller children and have grown into the full Esther.

DangerouslyBored · 30/07/2022 22:26

Awful. Granny name, not remotely cool!

I like it, like Este (pronounced Estie) as a NN but I love the band Haim, what a band of kick ass Jewish babes!!

GeriTheBerry · 30/07/2022 22:21

Yes, love it. Same category as Astrid for me.

VeryQuaintIrene · 30/07/2022 22:11

It's a good name, and for me associated with the fabulous and lovable Esther the WonderPig, which is fine because I love pigs. But maybe not everyone does...

I love it. It is a cool, strong name and if you read the story of Esther in the bible, you see that she is one of the coolest, strongest women in the whole book. I love the name.

nokitchen · 30/07/2022 22:07

I love it

SirSidneyRuffDiamond · 30/07/2022 21:57

I love it - so strong and has a cool vibe to it. I love Hester too. My great grandmother's name was Hester Louisa Rabjohn which I think is fabulous 🥰

C0mfyChairP0se · 30/07/2022 21:51

Strong and cool!

Forgothowmuchlhatehomeschoolin · 30/07/2022 21:49

Not a fan

Katjolo · 30/07/2022 21:01

Gorgeous name. Essie as a potential nickname.

Titsflyingsouth · 30/07/2022 20:53

I find it bizarre that MNetters often rave about this name. It's dowdy and middle-aged to me...

NeedToKnow101 · 30/07/2022 20:52

I love the name Esther

LoveTigerWiger · 30/07/2022 20:49

I've been fond of it every since I was born (33)😁

Theskyoutsideisblue · 30/07/2022 20:48

Absolutely awful

DramaAlpaca · 30/07/2022 20:44

I consider it a strong name, but I don't see it as cool.

vjg13 · 30/07/2022 20:42

It's a beautiful name.

Unlikelyfarmerswife · 30/07/2022 20:34

Do like Esther, but prefer Hester
