Which do you think? Is Chelsea too 80s/90s?

I say Add-ah-leen for Adaline, so that's another version.

CourtWint · 29/07/2022 00:09

I think the traditional pronunciation is. Ad-ah-line because of a few songs I've heard but I do think some people pronounce it Ad-ah-lynn which is also pretty.

Adeline, although I Adelaide best and Adela even better.

Chelsea is fucking appalling, like calling your child Chardonnay.

FlissyPaps · 28/07/2022 23:56

Adeline. (Would it be pronounced Ad-a-lynne or Ad-a-line?) really nice either way!

I was born early 90’s and know loads of Chelsea’s but can’t imagine it’s too popular now. Also a nice name!

PeekabooAtTheZoo · 28/07/2022 23:51

Adeline. Gorgeous 1920s name.
Chelsea is cute but it's also the (current) name of Barbie's youngest sister.

Bubbleguppette · 28/07/2022 23:48

Adeline, don't really like Chelsea.
But there are a few different pronunciations of Adeline

Linnet · 28/07/2022 23:48

Adeline, it's a lovely name and quite unusual.

Friffle · 28/07/2022 23:47

Neither tbh.

Chelsea seems a bit 90s naff and Adeline is a stuffy name for a creepy Victorian doll. MN will give Adeline the thumbs up though.

Aquaticshark11 · 28/07/2022 23:44

Yes, Adeline is beautiful and timeless whereas Chelsea, although a nice name, is a bit dated.

runforyourdog · 28/07/2022 23:31

Adaline

orangeisthenewpuce · 28/07/2022 23:30

Adeline definitely. Chelsea is indeed very unfashionable now.
