I love it but its become too popular for dogs

I’d say 50/50. I know a few dogs called Luna but also a few girls. A bit like Tilly and Teddy it’s just a name that can be both. What is it about the name that attracts you? Maybe we can give you some similar suggestions?

It’s popular for girls as well as well as dogs but it’s had it’s day IMO

I like the name Luna and it wouldn’t bother me that it is often used as a dog’s name, unless I personally knew someone with a dog called Luna. You could choose any name for a your child and then hear it was used for a pet. I know two dogs called James and Noel.

Yep my cat was called Luna and a friend's dog. It's a nice name though.

I love the name Luna but couldn't get past the Loony/Lunatic nicknames. Maybe use it as a middle name if you really like it?

As soon as I saw the name I knew a dog would be mentioned.

Maybe people should call their dogs just by actual dog names. I don't know like snowy 🤣. Considering they're not actually humans.

I really like the sound of it, it's pleasing. But god yeah, every second female doggo around here is called Luna. And a fair few kids too.

There are loads of L- two syllable female names out there if you decide Luna isn't for you. Leila, Leila, Leia...
