Final two names on our list - George or Joseph (Joe) - which do you prefer?

Would be a sister to Eve.

George.
Both nice though!

Luredbyapomegranate · 26/07/2022 17:02

Joesph nn Joe

less overused at this moment and goes better with Eve

OceanbreezeSun · 26/07/2022 14:30

Joseph.

Lovely name & nice shortened to Joe or Joey.

SunshineAndFizz · 26/07/2022 14:29

It was a fairly even split a few days ago, but Joseph has stormed ahead! Very interesting!

Joseph.

Mumtoone39 · 26/07/2022 14:19

Definitely Joseph. Our cat is called George.

LetItGoHome · 26/07/2022 14:13

Joseph.
I prefer the sound of Joseph/Joe, but George seems a little over done now as there was a massive increase in popularity over the last few years.
Joseph/Joe definitely sounds fresher 😊

MurderAtTheBeautyPageant · 26/07/2022 14:02

Joseph. By a long shot.

George doesn’t do it for me at all. Such a clammy and flubbery name.

Fridaysgirl17 · 26/07/2022 09:39

Joseph though I have to say that as it's what I named my son 5 years ago 😂, he goes by Joseph or Jo Jo(kids call him Jo Jo),I'm not a fan of Joe as a nickname so I don't use it, but I like George too it's my father's name & my brother so it would have been too much to choose that for either of my boys,

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 26/07/2022 09:39

Joseph

ZoyaTheDestroyer · 26/07/2022 09:33

Joseph as long as you don't mind the fairly biblical combination with Eve.

George is too popular for me at the moment.

SunshineAndFizz · 24/07/2022 18:01

Thanks all!

I love both. Both great names - good for boys and men.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 24/07/2022 09:10

Joseph

love Joe

Joseph

SunshineAndFizz · 24/07/2022 09:05

Interesting. I wondered if there'd be one clear winner but it's a fairly even split so far.

George

ProbAmU · 24/07/2022 05:36

Joseph definitely, not a fan of George

ofwarren · 24/07/2022 05:25

Joseph
I've never liked the sound of George.

lucifur · 24/07/2022 05:12

Joseph. I really dislike George. It's just not a pleasant sounding name and all the ones I've known have been arses.

MrsBertBibby · 24/07/2022 04:53

Joseph, hands down.

CorvusPurpureus · 24/07/2022 01:31

I have a minor prejudice against George, at least the English version, because...it sort of feels like it doesn't need so many letters. It's one of those perfectly pleasant & unremarkable names where the longer you look at it, the odder it looks written down.

So I would go with Joseph, if I had to pick one of the two.

Both solid names that won't date - again Joseph might have the edge here as definitely less fashionable.

pepsirolla · 24/07/2022 01:16

I have a George who was named after my grandad who was named, as many were, after King George, lovely DS lovely name.
