Final two names on our list - George or Joseph (Joe) - which do you prefer?

Would be a sister to Eve.

we have a joseph. love it. George is overdone now

AlwaysLatte · 29/07/2022 21:13

Ah that makes sense! I would say Joseph then, because I know a LOT of Georges.

SunshineAndFizz · 29/07/2022 10:47

@WitchWithoutChips that does make me feel better!

I actually think Joseph goes better with Eve. I am a sucker for sib-set names though.

If your DD was Elizabeth I'd say George Grin

Both lovely names but go Joseph

CinderellaFant · 28/07/2022 08:39

Joseph is my favourite boys name

SpaceJamtart · 28/07/2022 08:28

Joseph definitely

Would be a BROTHER to Eve. My mistake, baby brain must be kicking in.

You aren't the only one - it took fifty-odd posts before anyone noticed!

Tough choice as they are two of my favourite names. I’d use both and go with the order that flows best with your surname.

Tubbyinthehottub · 28/07/2022 08:04

George

OddsandSods · 28/07/2022 07:24

George is a lovely name. Joseph not so much.

CatSeany · 28/07/2022 07:24

Joe < George < Joseph... I love Joe so would just put that on the birth cert.

Hang on - you’re thinking of naming a daughter Joseph or George? 🤨

Nope, it's for a son.

Not sure why some are thinking it's a girl Grin

I've not heard of Joseph for a girl so for that reason I'd definitely steer clear to avoid confusion. George is nice - could be short for Georgiana? One of my favourite girls names!

I never said it was a girl? Grin

George is much nicer, classic but nice.

Dasher789 · 28/07/2022 00:17

George

TheFormidableMrsC · 27/07/2022 23:33

I've got a Joseph, his friends call him Joe.

I have a baby Joseph. Joseph James actually. Great, classic name! I do like George as well though’

Meganwarbs · 27/07/2022 21:58

Another vote for Joseph! But then I have a 14 month old Baby Joe, so may be biased 😄

SemperIdem · 27/07/2022 21:21

I prefer Joseph on its own but would use George with Eve

CharlieBoo · 26/07/2022 21:32

Definitely Joseph! So so many George’s

WitchWithoutChips · 26/07/2022 17:38

Oh definitely Joseph. It had a bit of a moment in the late 90s - early 2000s and there are a lot of twenty-something Joes around but it never went top 5 so doesn't feel as ubiquitous. George really is incredibly popular and I'm afraid its appeal eludes me.
