@daisypond OK cool. Where abouts do you live? Makes me feel better knowing there's more! The thing that was putting me off is that it doesn't seem very popular - I don't want to give him a name that people generally dislike🙂 makes me feel better knowing it is actually still used IYSWIM

No, I don’t know if there’s statistically been a sudden surge. It’s anecdotal, in that I know of four Evanses personally, born in the last couple of years.

With Jude being the far more popular of the two, I'd say it's more likely to date.

I know Judes of every age -well, in their 50s all the way to children. All the Evans I know are very young children, so that’s why I feel it might date -a sudden surge in a name tends to eventually date. Maybe there’s more in Wales, though.

I prefer Jude. Evan is OK but I know loads who have been called it in the last few years. It’ll date badly.

I can’t stand Jude so it would be Evan for me. DD had a little friend called Evan (a girl) when she was little and I’ve not come across another since.

No I’m not welsh or anything me and my bf just heard the name one day when I was pregnant and we both loved it and my family loved it ,it’s such a lovely name yeh it’s used a lot in uk & America not too sure about the rest of the world

@Jenjens1992 great choice. Do you have any welsh or celtic connections? We don't - we simply just love the name. I think it's quite an Internationally used name though?

Same as @AmandaMirandaPanda , Jude is completely associated with the yellow stars of the Holocaust for me.
