Are Jacob and Benjamin too similar?

Are these names too similar for brothers? Because of the repeating B and J sounds?

No - they're very different. They go well together.

Gypsophiladaisy · 20/07/2022 15:00

reminds me of outnumbered the tv show lol

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 18/07/2022 13:28

Lovely combination.

spiderlight · 18/07/2022 13:26

I think they're lovely together. If you wanted a 'Ben' name without the J sound, I also love Benedict.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 18/07/2022 13:19

Funnily enough two of DH's brothers are called this so no I'd say not

They go beautifully together OP
Really handsome names

They are really handsome aren’t they? That’s the word I was looking for 😂 also Jake & Ben/Benji/Benny are really friendly and cute names for when they’re young.

I have a friend who has boys with those names. I like them.

xxcatcatcatxx · 18/07/2022 09:45

Oh my bad, just checked and Jacob was the dad and Benjamin was the son. Irregardless definitely go well together xxx

xxcatcatcatxx · 18/07/2022 09:44

Weren’t they brothers in the Bible? Maybe I imaged that? Very cute though💕

Unrelated but lots of older people have the initials DJ and it does make me chuckle with their surnames. Always do a little air horn “DJ ……. in the houseeeeee”.

Unless you have an unfortunate surname though you’ll definitely be fine xxx

babyjellyfish · 18/07/2022 09:38

No, they're fine and they go well together.

Benjamin and Jacob go really well together as names for brothers.

Spanielsarepainless · 17/07/2022 19:45

Absolutely not similar in the slightest
adore Benjamin

Holidaydreamingagain · 17/07/2022 19:09

They’re totally different names

Luredbyapomegranate · 17/07/2022 19:02

No they go nicely

OwlBasket · 17/07/2022 18:59

There’s a sort of symmetry to them with the b an j sounds, which is nice, there’re both Old Testament names so linked that way too. So no, not similar but very nicely matched.

SycamoreTall · 17/07/2022 18:58

Not similar at all.

Jacob is Benjamin's dad, but I don't think that matters either, as long as you don't then have Joseph, Reuben and Dan...
