What are your thoughts on Florimund for a boy?

What immediately leapt to my mind was 'moribund' which is a horrible association. Also it would be a bad enough name for a girl, but a boy?!

HaveringWavering · 17/07/2022 18:08

The Prince in sleeping beauty was a terrible man anyway- he sexually assaulted a comatose woman.

Sandcastles24 · 17/07/2022 13:42

Something bad for you found in toothpaste?

KirstenBlest · 17/07/2022 13:35

Floribund. Absolutely not.

obsessedwithsleep · 17/07/2022 12:45

I think your pregnancy hormones might be affecting your judgment.

yoshiblue · 17/07/2022 12:43

I have a Florian, obviously I love the name. Much nicer than Florimund.

He gets called Flo at school as a nickname, I don't really see it as a girly nickname.

TuftyMarmoset · 17/07/2022 12:35

Definitely not. Florian is a bit dated imo as well. Edmund is nice but you do have the issue of most people associating it with the Narnia character.

Twixchocolate · 17/07/2022 12:31

Florian is nice
Edmund is also nice
Florimund, not so.

Luredbyapomegranate · 17/07/2022 12:13

It sounds like a drain issue

Florian
Fabian
Francis
all fine

savemeagin · 17/07/2022 09:01

Sounds like something I'd find down the detergent isle in Tesco.

stormelf · 17/07/2022 08:57

I immediately thought of the iron tonic, although I know that's floradix.

RuthW · 17/07/2022 08:27

I thought it was awful for a girl. It's worse now I realise it's s boy's name.

KangarooKenny · 17/07/2022 07:57

too much like moribund for me. Google it.

homarr · 17/07/2022 07:55

Or comment

MadMadMadamMim · 16/07/2022 19:57

Florimund would be a target for getting the shit kicked out of him at most schools round here...

Crying at this comet 😂

LightDrizzle · 17/07/2022 00:08

Horrific! 😂 How about Sparklehof as an alternative?

FirstFallopians · 17/07/2022 00:06

FLORIMUND All Purpose Plant Food with long-lasting effect for strong & healthy plants. Suitable for all plants in house & garden.

Wash hands thoroughly after use. Avoid contact with skin. Frequent exposure may cause unexpected hair growth on soles of feet.

Greensleeves · 16/07/2022 23:59

Oh, come on.

bitelover · 16/07/2022 23:58

When I think of Florimund, I picture an 80 year-old man from maybe Germany or the Netherlands.

I don't think it really works for a a British baby, no.

PhotoDad · 16/07/2022 22:28

No ballet fans here? But then I probably wouldn't call my kids Odile, Coppélia, or Nutcracker.

Ellmau · 16/07/2022 22:10

A bit too flowery, sorry.

LouisRenault · 16/07/2022 21:57

I like Florian

nn Florrie or Flo? That's probably what he'd be called at school.

CuteOrangeElephant · 16/07/2022 21:53

Floris is a Dutch boy's name which I quite like. I thought Florimund was a girls name because of Rosamund.

Orgasmagorical · 16/07/2022 21:52

Florimund Rees Mogg. Aye, that works.

RestingMurderousFace · 16/07/2022 21:50

Classica · 16/07/2022 21:44

Hideous. Sounds like the brand name of a liquid iron supplement.

Ha, this was my first thought too.
