Alice or Sadie?

I am 38 weeks pregnant and we still haven't decided upon a name. I think we are down to either Alice or Sadie. Siblings are Ellie and Laura. What are your thoughts? New suggestions welcome.

Sadie

The song always makes me think of Sadie the cleaning lady.
I somehow cannot see it as a name with any aspirations — always a hard working minimum wage sort of name. I can’t recall any woman of note called Sadie ( probably have been a few celebs but that would underline my point)

I wouldn’t have two-ie names. But Sarah with Sadie for short would be ok. Alice is OK but I find it dull. Alix is an old form that’s more interesting.

Alice doesn't appeal to me.

Sadie works well with your other dds names.

Alternatives might be

Zoe
Mamie
Jacqueline
Joan (ie) / Joni
Saskia
Jamie
Zadie
Mitzi
Lorelei
Fern
Poppy
Daisy
Georgia
Jane
Ruth
Romilly
Piper

I’m not keen on Sadie but I love Alice!

I wouldn’t choose two names ending in ‘ie’ and one not - Laura might feel like the odd one out.

KatRee · 16/07/2022 08:49

I really like Sadie, it's one of those names that classic and modern all at once.

MassiveSalad22 · 16/07/2022 08:46

Sadie definitely

Merryclaire · 16/07/2022 08:39

Sadie is a great name.

katielou987 · 16/07/2022 01:40

Alice definitely x

Classica · 15/07/2022 20:26

I prefer Sadie.

Alice is okay but a bit drippy.

StinkyKid · 15/07/2022 17:46

One of them is my name, one I have an irrational dislike of, so I won’t say anything on either name, but suggested Stella as a possibility.

GreenManalishi · 15/07/2022 17:43

Sadie, definitely. Love it

ChagSameachDoreen · 15/07/2022 17:39

Alice.

Sadie sound like sadist, and puts me in mind of a blowsy East End prostitute from period drama.

I would probably lean towards Sadie.
