37 weeks pregnant and don't have a name picked for a girl. Do you prefer Edith, Jessie or Rowan?

Edith

Don't like Edith at all.
Jessie would get my vote.

Luredbyapomegranate · 09/07/2022 13:58

Rowan, only because I think it’s a bit less popular than Edith (but check that.) They are both great.

I like Jessie if short for Jessica too, just not quite as much.

Primatrying · 09/07/2022 13:46

I don't like Edith. I dislike names ending in th for some reason.

Rowan is a boys name to me. I hate boys names being appropriated for girls.

I like Jessie.

Cloud16 · 09/07/2022 13:14

I like Rowan! Jessie is cute too though.

RockinHorseShit · 09/07/2022 13:07

I love Edith, it was second on my list for DD

User2145738790 · 09/07/2022 12:57

Please not Edith. I'd never speak to my mother again if she called me that.

KangarooKenny · 09/07/2022 12:53

I prefer Jess.
Rowan could be girl or boy.
Edith is still an old lady to me.

DontLikeCoffee · 09/07/2022 12:51

Going against the grain, I hate Edith it’s so prim. I love Edie though.

I think Jessie is cool, there’s one at my DC’s school.

Hurstlandshome · 09/07/2022 11:31

Edith

Fivebeanchilli · 09/07/2022 11:27

Edith.
Jessie is ok but there are an increasing number of male Jesses so I think it would get annoying. Jess or Jessica would be better but Edith is still nicer.
Rowan is lovely too but there are too many male Rowans (and Rohans, Roans and Romans) so again I think it would get annoying.
Edith is lovely though.

pamshortsbrokenbothherlegs · 09/07/2022 11:26

Edith is beautiful.

Jessie is just a nn to me, and I don't love nn as given names. Also it feels dated - I know Jessica seems to get a lot of praise on MN for some reason but to me it will always be a name for someone born in the 80s/90s, I just can't see it on a baby.

Rowan I prefer for boys but it's objectively quite nice.

Mumofgirls2017 · 09/07/2022 11:23

Definitely Edith!

KirstenBlest · 09/07/2022 11:22

Rowan, but it's unisex. Jessie is nice if short for Jessica, but I prefer Jess. Not keen on Edith or Edie.

I'd go with Jess

casualreader2022 · 09/07/2022 11:20

Congratulations! Ooh difficult as all three are so different...

  1. Edith - cute and nn is cute
  2. Jessie - personally prefer Jessica which a nn of Jessie
  3. Rowan - pretty, I've only ever met male Rowan's though. That's not to say it wouldn't be a gorgeous girls name though. Rowena perhaps?
Krakinou · 09/07/2022 11:10

Edith. Jessie and Rowan sound like boys names to me, and also passing fads, whereas Edith is timeless and there are interesting historical figures she’ll share the name with. If she prefers a more gender neutral name, there’s always the nickname Eddie.

FrodisCapering · 09/07/2022 11:09

I like Rowan
