If Florence it’s likely it will be shortened to Florri.

If Imogen, likely it’ll be shortened to Immy.

Imogen sounds like an energy company that went bust in 2005

Yes! Like Powergen or something. It also reminds me of engines. No idea why Imogen is so popular on here, I think it's utterly hideous.

Florence is nice, though.

DramaAlpaca · 05/07/2022 01:47

Imogen is nice... but Florence is gorgeous.

Florence.

A friend has a Florence and it gets shortened to Floss, Flossie, Florrie, Flo, Flo-bo

I have a Florence and we also use many nn’s but use Flo-bo quite a lot ☺️

urbanbuddha · 05/07/2022 00:37

Imogen.

mathanxiety · 05/07/2022 00:35

I prefer Imogene, which has a 1940s glam vibe.

mathanxiety · 05/07/2022 00:34

Florence.
Imogen is rather clunky imo.

bridgetreilly · 05/07/2022 00:19

Prefer Imogen nn Gen.

Homegettinginvaded · 05/07/2022 00:14

Florence too pretentious…Imogen absolutely lovely.

Snugglemonkey · 05/07/2022 00:10

I think Florence is a nice name but it is a period nickname where I am from and I hate Florrie. So an Imogen vote for me.

newfriend05 · 04/07/2022 23:57

Loved the name Imogen 25 years ago , but not so much now much prefer Florence now

DinosaursEatMan · 04/07/2022 21:27

Florence is awesome.

Stopdropnroll · 04/07/2022 21:26

I'm biased as I've got a Florence but I've never regretted naming her that. It doesn't really get shortened outside of the family but when we do we tend to call her Flossy. We've alway avoided shortening to Florrie as that was my grannies name but actually now my Florence is older and definitely her own person I wouldn't mind people calling her Florrie.

I do like Imogen too partly because she has a lovely friend called Imogen but I don't think it's a name I'd have used myself.

AssignedSlytherinAtBirth · 04/07/2022 21:21
