I understand that perfectly well. The OP said Gaelic. Gaelic always links to Scotland. Gaelige is Irish.

I grew up with Gaelic speakers, mostly from the Western Isles. Irish names seem completely different to me.

If you have a Fiadh, I'd stick with Irish Gaelic, I have Gaelic names as we come from a Gaelic speaking family (Scotland) and it grinds my gears when folk just use them
with no thought.

Gaelic and gaeilge share similar words and names. In Scottish with irish heritage so I dont mind either irish or scottish.

Ive only ever met 1 milidh and it was at a baby group. It's a scottish name

I already have a fiadh

I’m confused by “Gaelic”. Gaelic relates to Scotland, but most of your name ideas are Irish. Do you want Gaelic Scottish names or Irish? Or will either do?

But these threads always go the same way. Mumsnet hates Irish names. For boys they're termed naughty names. Otherwise we're condemning children to a lifetime of (horror) spelling out names for people.
