OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Xavier

It's got to be Balonz, surely?

Diverseopinions · 27/06/2022 00:07

Cedric ( Ced is good for short, too)
D'Artagnan

SiobhanSharpe · 26/06/2022 23:49

Jehoshaphat
(biblical, so not unique but pretty rare, I'd guess.)
Anson.
I recall a Spanish film in which one of the characters, a middle class boy, was called Tenochtitlan, the Aztec name for Mexico City, I believe. Bet there weren't many of them in his school.
Hmm. Aztec might work.

saddowizca · 26/06/2022 23:38

Yes - I spelt it wrong 🙄 - Should have been Joachim pronounced Jo A Kim. He is a very distant relative in my defence 😅

saddowizca · 26/06/2022 21:56

Joaquim? Not to my taste but used by a distant relative. Pronounced Jo a kim…

Isn't this usually pronounced wa-keem?

TheWayoftheLeaf · 26/06/2022 23:34

Dorian
Zadkiel
Arcturous
Amenadiel
Atticus
Aldred

Again, none of these are unique.

Are people posting who don’t know what the word means?

We know what unique means.
Most of us also realise that the OP means ‘very unusual, don’t know if a kid called this’.

Otherwise we would all be suggesting things like Rilly-Boo, Uffuncinal, Prog and Jekko, wouldn’t we?

Why does his name have to be 'unique'? Every child is unique. It doesn't mean you have to saddle them with a name they have to constantly explain or spell just because his parents wanted to stand out.

They went for the English pronunciation of the name:
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joachim_(given_name)

You can tell he’s a distant relative, I’ve never actually written his name before now. So yes

Joachim

No it really isn't. More like Wa-keem.

No just making an educated guess that she doesn't actually mean what she posted, given she also cited Lucien and Cillian and to have a unique name she's basically be asking people to make names up.

Hopefully she’ll go with my suggestion above then. It’s exotic, like Rothmans, or Frogmella.

Some of these suggestions Confused - please don't call a kid Pollux or Cnut (unless you really hate him).

FemmeNatal · 26/06/2022 23:03

daisypond · 26/06/2022 22:30

Cillian is pronounced Killian.

If you like an S sound along with an L:
Cecil
Solomon
Sylvester
Cyril
Selwyn

None of those are unique. Far from it.

That’s not unique. If you really need a name that’s never existed before it’s probably going to be a strange one.

How about Rappapaul-cheesehead?
