I don't know if it's the hormones(time of month not pregnancy) but Prudence is beginning to have a certain charm. Somehow it seems adorable to me when I picture it on a little girl.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Two of my children have these names! 🤣

You have fantastic taste @mistermagpie and @MissingGrandstand too 😄

MissingGrandstand · 26/06/2022 22:49

@MargheritaAndMargaritaPlease yes!!!! Angus and Hamish were both on my boy shortlist. I pushed SO HARD for Angus but DH would not budge, said he knew a boy in school etc, I managed to get him to reluctantly consider it as a middle name. Also got a hard no for Hamish, luckily I had a girl Grin

Boy names I LOVE Hamish, Gregor, Angus and Fergus.

Not sure if these are not conventionally attractive...but I've heard rude things about them (all were in the running for my ds and we did actually use one of them)!

I always loved Briony for a girl. Problem is my FIL is called Brian and although he's nice enough I wouldn't name my child after him!

Also love Gene for a boy which isn't everyone's idea of a pretty name.

Agnes and Winifred

Dear Prudence is my fave Beatles' song!

There are some lovely names here.

I'm adding Ruth, Ambrose, Ian, Mary, Heather and Dorothy to my list.

I think Ethel is a really pretty name.

Orphlids · 26/06/2022 19:35

I really like Gertrude. My DP and I say we should have chosen this for our DD1, as it would have suited her very well. Gerty is a nice nn for a little one.

I went to school with a Prudence back in the 80s. I remember thinking her name was a bit stuffy back then! But I think I’d be pretty chuffed to meet a little Prudence now.
