What spelling do you prefer?

I personally prefer Sybil?

I think Sibyl might be the more authentic spelling with regard to Greek mythology but Sybil is far more widely known. I'd go with Sybil.

I've never seen the second spelling. All I can hear is Syyyyyyyyybil!!!!!!

Sybil - didn't know it was spelt any other way.

First one for me, thanks to Mrs Fawlty.

Depends if you are naming after Fawlty Towers (Sybil) or The Picture of Dorian Gray (Sibyl).

My cat is Sybil 😹

Sybil Or Sibyl spelling?

Sybil. Does anyone actually spell it the other way?if so, why? It’s the term for several priestesses and prophetesses in the Greco Roman world ( also on the Sistine Chapel ceiling). I wouldn’t saddle a child with a misspelt name.

Sybil, never seen the other spelling it just doesn't look right for some reason
