It’s abit out there but it’s adorable and not very common which I love. It’s an acquired taste but thoughts?

I used to have a pet mouse called Dixie, named after Dixie Lee. I had no idea the Dixie Chicks changed their name, how silly!

I always think 'how would the name sound if the person was interviewing for a job?' "This is Dixie Watson." Mmmmm. What is cute on a child may not work so well on an adult.

The racial connotations would put me off. The dixie chicks have recently changed their name to the chicks because of this and they've been around donkeys.

Some pretty awful connotations in America. So much so the Dixie Chicks changed their name. Personally, I'd want something less charged and controversial for my child's name.

I rarely say this about a name but I think it's completely awful, sorry. It has "dicks" right in the first syllable (huge teasing potential!) and it's associated with the slavery and segregation in the US South.

I'd look up why The Dixie Chick's apologised for their name and are now The Chick's. Historically the mason-dixon line separated where slavery was allowed in America.....the beloved Ol' Dixie and how wonderful life was in the South until the pesky Liberal northerners said they were racist.....sorry!

I would worry that it could invite a bit of bullying as it starts with a 'dicks' sound...

For me personally it also seems like one of those names that's really sweet for a child but would seem weird for a 50 year old.
