I mean real names not La-A and Lemonjello or Chlamydia or other urban legends.

A friend in the U.S has called her baby son, Sundance. I rather like it in a way though I was taken aback at first.

I met a McLaren recently too, not as unusual as Sundance but not something that you encounter every day either.

Many years ago I met a Nico’tiana

BeautyGoesToBenidorm · 16/06/2022 16:21

An old colleague also named his son Judge.

I knew a little Cello (the parents weren't cellists either!). I also knew a little cherub with big blue eyes and white-blond ringlets, called Diesel - that one was quite jarring!

Whoops!

Rexi in our baby group. Sidney as well, though that's not as unusual as some others mentioned

There was a

Parsley - didn't see if it was a boy or a girl.

Wandrille.

SallyWD · 16/06/2022 16:08

There's a little girl called Tiger who lives in our street.

I've got an arrow and an atlas in my circle

Do you think Arrow's parents were having a-row about what to name him/her?

Sorry.

Banjo though, bloody hell. I'd rather be called Clavichord I think, maybe even Harmonica (monica for short)

Velvian · 16/06/2022 15:57

Banjo.

I recently met a Loki and a Neville. Both a surprise!

Boy I hope they were brothers! Most unusual for me lately is Arlo, although it seems to be gaining traction if MN is anything to go by. I like it, but it makes me think of yoghurt.

Alan.

Not in itself an unusual name but quite jarring on a teeny baby!

Stichintime · 16/06/2022 15:45

Arrow and Echo.

CaramelJones · 16/06/2022 15:43

Interesting. I've heard of Atlas but never met one but I've never heard of Arrow being used as a nickname.

That just reminded me that another friend has a baby son called Tiger.
