Oh also Elliott but it's the surname in another part of our family so we couldn't have done it

YukoandHiro · 13/06/2022 19:38

DH refused:
Nancy
Lavinia
Jonah
Sidney (for a boy)

We weren't brave enough for Cleo.

Adore Rufus but doesn't go with another sibling name

Ariel for a girl. I love it, there was a show I used to watch with a character with that name, and I thought it was so cool
DH was just 'we can't use that, it's a brand of washing powder'

I like a Germanic name. A Karl or a Conrad. I thought about Christofferson as it has slightly less macho connotations. I ruled it out as having way too many letters and therefore a pain to spell and too expensive to buy cute personalised stuff . Gave DS an unusual short name that I love and it’s not been mentioned since,
Weirdly DS told me at about 7 or 8 quite randomly that he really liked the name Christofferson and wished he’d been called that…

I'd like to have had an Emily and an Ida. I did use Emily as a second name for one dd.
I'd like to have had a Jack and for late dh a Daniel. (After his dad.) Probably just as well we didn't have boys as Jack and Daniel don't go well together!

Your Girl names! I am one and my DD is the other!
