Edgar vs Eugene nn Gene

Which one would take your vote? I prefer Eugene nn gene. Edgar is lovely as a full name but do not like Ed/Eddy nn.

He'd have to be REALLY cool and good looking to pull off Edgar.

Neither are to my taste, but I'd choose Edgar over Eugene. Can't get on board with Eugene at all... I've never met a Eugene that I liked, and it reminds me if eugenics

Edgar is ok.

Eugene is one of the ugliest names ever.Gene is just as bad.
