Brother for Nirvana and Jude

We are looking for a brother name to go with older sister Nirvana and older brother Jude.
I am in love with both dc’s names,Nirvana was initially named after the band that me and dp both really love but when we looked into the meaning it just settled it for us, and with Jude we got inspiration from the beetle song

these are some names that we like but can’t use:
Hendrix-we didn’t love the nn options and we weren’t quite feeling it
Fender-we loved the connection to Fender amps and guitars but it didn’t feel like a complete name for us
Bowie- dp top choice right now with possible longer name Boden but we already have a Beau in our family who often gets called Bowie
Blues-family don’t feel like it’s a proper name to use
Indie-my top choice and I’m trying to convince dp
Fox-this is my second choice but don’t like the nickname possibly of foxy

We are quite settled on the middle name options either Michael or Beesley after my late grandfather

Why post on it then? Where do you expect your funny comment to land? The kid is already named. Doing this just brings old threads back into active which is really annoying

oneinamillieon · 13/11/2023 12:51

nirvana? how about name the next one soundgarden or pearl jam 😹
only joking, its actually a very nice name
(i'm aware this is a zombie thread)

stopthepain · 20/06/2022 21:24

@Zoomer122 the people taking the piss out of your DC’s names are the same people who are naming theirs after old ladies e.g. Ivy, Elsie, Mavis, Nora, Dorothy/Dotty etc (old lady names are strangely very very popular at the moment). I prefer Stevie (if you want the Fleetwood Mac reference).

schoolsoutforever · 20/06/2022 20:24

I really like Iggy (Pop), short for Ignatius, or Rudy, as in ska music (short for Rude boy perhaps?) ‘A Message to you Rudy…stop your messing around…’ etc.

Carlycat · 20/06/2022 00:37

Big shout out for Cassidy 😬

Never mind* Meatloaf, how about Sören Maltloaf?

*No Nirvana pun intended.

😂

Rockmehardplace · 18/06/2022 17:51

I quite like Fender!

what about Kiedis?

Loadedforest · 18/06/2022 12:56

@Floydthebarber i get the feeling they’re probably more the Nevermind era…..

Floydthebarber · 18/06/2022 11:25

I have to say, with the OP being such a huge Nirvana fan I am disappointed I didn't get a high five for my user name! Sad

suckingonchillidogs · 15/06/2022 13:38

Um, how about just Stevie?

Too normal for them clearly

Pinkdelight3 · 16/06/2022 10:50

As PP said, because of Richard Nixon, which is all the name conjures to me, along with all the bad stuff associated with him.

eggandonion · 16/06/2022 08:26

Why is Nickson any stranger than Jackson or Jaxon? Or Harrison?

Forthefirst · 16/06/2022 06:06

Zoomer122 · 14/06/2022 22:34

I just thought I would update everyone on here Nixon aka Nix is the final name we settled on for our love of Stevie nicks
it was between that and Fleetwood (didn’t think it would be very popular on mn and we thought it was a bit heavy with nirvana so we went for Nix)

😂😂😂😂😂😂 poor children. I’ve never heard of all 3 kids getting crappy names ‘inspired’ by their parents Mediocre music preferences. Also I’m afraid Richard Nixon not Stevie Nicks is the association you’re going to get.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 15/06/2022 21:43

As in Nick's son

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 15/06/2022 21:43

Nickson? This has to be a joke

midsomermurderess · 15/06/2022 15:24

Gwendolyn.

FolornLawn · 15/06/2022 14:48

Nickson would make me think of the president too, if I heard it rather than saw it written down.

suckingonchillidogs · 15/06/2022 13:38

Um, how about just Stevie?

Chaoslatte · 15/06/2022 12:40

Nickson is a surprising choice. It makes me think of the right-wing president of Watergate fame. I wouldn’t have connected it with Stevie Nicks at all.

Ducksurprise · 14/06/2022 22:44

Love Fleetwood, but congratulations on deciding Nickson. I also love Stevie Nicks

Is this just a pisstake Mumsnet thread?

Boden? Hahah

Has to be. Blue Michael was considered at one point…

Zoomer122 · 14/06/2022 22:37

I meet many many different children in my job & I have met a Nirvana previously, I've also had Presley, Axel/Axl, Kurt, Indiana, Buddy, Woody, Buzz, Cohen, Jagger, Mac, Ace & Maverick.

Honestly, some names I read & think oh no why have they called their baby that. But usually that's when it doesn't go with the last name or the first name is spelt differently and it's hard for me to tell what it is for no good reason.
