European names

I'm pregnant with no.2 and starting to think about names. We don't yet know whether it's a girl or a boy.

We need a name which works in both English and French - it doesn't have to be pronounced the same way but I'd like it to be spelled the same way in both languages. It would be a bonus if the name is used in other European languages too.

Our son's name is Hugo, so we're looking for something with a similar sort of vibe. I like the fact that it's an old classic name with a long history but is currently popular in both countries.

Quite a few names have already been used in the family but the ones we definitely can't use are Joseph, Gabriel and Alice.

Any ideas?

Thanks 😊

Sylvie - this is considered lovely and fresh to the English but I've heard it's considered a middle aged name in France, not sure about how the other names would be viewed although I believe they've all been in use in France.
