Which do you prefer of Max or Felix and why?

Any associations you have with either name?

Thanks!

I mean both lovely names but also both very popular right now ! 2 of each in my child’s nursery 🙈🙈

ErrolTheDragon · 22/10/2022 23:27

Max for a dog, Felix for a cat so obviously I prefer Max.

Fivebeanchilli · 22/10/2022 23:26

Felix is almost in the top 50 and my teenage son has several in his year. I just roll my eyes at the cat comments on mumsnet.
I much prefer Felix to Max, mainly because the Max I used to know well was a horrible bully.
But objectively it's a nice enough name - Felix is lovely though.

CourtneeLuv · 22/10/2022 23:17

Both are cats names. Or dog and cat.

peanutbutterontoast7 · 22/10/2022 23:16

Lol just realised I have already commented on this months ago 😅 I thought it was a new thread, haha!

peanutbutterontoast7 · 22/10/2022 23:15

I have a son called Felix. Obviously there's a cat food called felix but honestly nobody has ever made the link and now I have a Felix I don't even think about the cat food. It really isn't an issue. I get soooo many compliments on his lovely name ♥️
You could go with pheonix if the comments put you off!
I wouldn't change my little Felix for anything ♥️ He looks putting the Felix the car song on Alexa and we have a laugh at it 🙈

I also have a Marley. Maybe I just let the pet style names 😅

xxFloraxx · 22/10/2022 23:08

I associate the name Max with dogs, I have known several dogs with the name Max, I have never known a cat called Felix, yes there is a cat food brand, but there's many other cats food brands too with names, I don't think a brand can mean the name can never be used as the name Felix is a real name that has been around since the Roman times, it means 'happiness'

bridgetreilly · 05/06/2022 19:45

Felix. It’s such a great name with such a nice meaning. It’s wasted on cats.

Titsflyingsouth · 05/06/2022 18:30

Felix

There are SO many Max's...

Kanaloa · 05/06/2022 15:28

I much prefer Max. It’s simple, friendly, well known. I find Felix a bit fussy if that makes sense. Maximus is cool too.

*felix the cat

Bloomin autocorrect 🙈

Also my eldest is Felix Andy youngest is Marley. Not a single person has every comment on Felix the car or Marley and me. Literally nobody!

Wednesdayafternoon · 05/06/2022 14:45

My eldest is called Felix and I still love it!
I literally don't know another felix his age either so still fairly uncommon!

loulou2021 · 05/06/2022 14:44

Love Max

Dyra · 05/06/2022 14:38

I love them both! I'm biased towards Max though since I have my own. He's just Max though. It's not short for anything.

toastofthetown · 05/06/2022 13:30

Much prefer Felix. Max is just bland.

DuchessOfSausage · 05/06/2022 13:24

Max

KangarooKenny · 05/06/2022 07:50

Max. Felix will always be associated with a cat.

Mumofgirls2017 · 05/06/2022 07:46

Felix

i like them but some will say dog/ cat names

ElenaSt · 04/06/2022 23:53

Felix.

Fuckitydoodah · 04/06/2022 23:51

Definitely Max

JennyAct3 · 04/06/2022 23:49

Max. Felix makes me think of cat food and I know a 14 year old Felix and he’s not a nice kid (still just a kid so obviously time to change!).

User6761 · 04/06/2022 23:34

I like Max. Hate Maximilian but do like the French name Maxime.

I've met a couple of toddler Felixs recently. I think for their generation it will be a normal name, but for me it's 'cats like Felix like Felix'.

Marvellousmadness · 04/06/2022 22:52

🐱Felix

AnnaKorine · 04/06/2022 20:12

I prefer max as short for maxwell
