Thoughts please? He will have two older brothers, half Irish heritage living in the UK.

Milo

TabithaTittlemouse · 21/05/2022 18:53

I love Torin and Milo, especially Torin.
Not a fan of Malachy.

Solosunrise · 21/05/2022 18:53

I like all those names but in order I like Torin best, then Malachy then Milo

CornishGem1975 · 21/05/2022 18:50

The name Milo apparently came over with the Normans and predates Miles, it's about as traditional as you can get. I don't like Torin but I do really like Malachy.

miltonj · 21/05/2022 18:44

Malachy. Was on my boys list. Love it.

SoggyPaper · 21/05/2022 18:43

Depending on your accent it’ll be taw-rin or toh-rin. Or somewhere in between.

also depends on whether the accent is rhotic.

Puffalicious · 21/05/2022 18:43

Is Milo really that popular? I know none at all here in Scotland, but perhaps it's very little ones who I'm not around.

BiscuitLover3678 · 21/05/2022 18:39

Milo is also old German

BiscuitLover3678 · 21/05/2022 18:39

How do you pronounce Torin?

I like Milo but it’s so popular right now it’ll probably date more easily

Is Milo really an old Irish name? I didn't realise that!

Yes, it's been in my family since 1900 at the very least.

Bah!

Milo is not flash in the pan, it's an old, Irish name. I almost called DC3 (10) Milo and adored Malachy for DS2 (15) but in the end went for Scottish names as I'm Scottish as is DH (my mam was Irish).

Don't listen to these folk talking Celtic names down: they'd disapprove of all 3 of my DS names too. It's all part of the English- centric MN hive mind.

I really couldn't chose. If I had to it'd be Malachi. All fab choices.

Awe none of you read pro milone for Latin a level!! For me, Milo, Malachy, Torin in that order. All great names

Puffalicious · 21/05/2022 01:05

I love them all. Milo is no

Sarah13xx · 21/05/2022 01:01

Milo 😊 I liked Taron at one point but prefer it to Torin I think

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 21/05/2022 00:22

Torin is very nice. Malachy is fine but not really my taste and has spelling issues. Milo is far too trendy/flash in the pan imo.

Amdone123 · 20/05/2022 13:53

I love Malachy.
Never liked Torin and didn't know why til a pp just said it sounds like Torrid. Now I know.
Dislike Milo.

midsomermurderess · 20/05/2022 13:19

I really like Malachy, it make me smile. Torin’s good too, more solemn.

Beetlewings · 20/05/2022 12:32

They're all lovely, take no notice that some people will always make associations with brands or anything they can clutch at, it's like 'seeing face in things'. One of my dc's has Malachi for his middle name and I adore it

BigWoollyJumpers · 20/05/2022 12:30

I know dozens of Milo's - all dogs! Don't got for Milo.

Another vote for Torin, very Game of Thrones.

BlueChampagne · 20/05/2022 12:27

Torin for me

TeeBee · 20/05/2022 08:31

Milo is a dog's name and Malachi just reminds me of Children of the Corn. So my vote is for Torin.

Mumofgirls2017 · 20/05/2022 08:15

Torin

scrivette · 20/05/2022 00:01

Torin

Undertheoldlindentree · 19/05/2022 23:43

Won't Torin get called Tory as a nickname? Not sure I could live with that?!
