Thoughts please? He will have two older brothers, half Irish heritage living in the UK.

Congratulations, Torin is an amazing name!

Titsflyingsouth · 23/07/2022 18:32

Torin is lovely

RuthW · 23/07/2022 06:58

Milo from your list

dontyouwishyourgirlfriendwas · 23/07/2022 01:51

Oh sorry, missed your update. Congratulations!!

dontyouwishyourgirlfriendwas · 23/07/2022 01:51

I think Milo is the nicest, then Torin, then Malachi (Malachy just looks wrong imo).

CharlieAndTooManyCharacters · 22/07/2022 14:54

Lovely. Welcome to the world baby Torin.

Solosunrise · 22/07/2022 14:42

Congratulations 🎊

BlueChampagne · 22/07/2022 13:48

Congratulations!

Just thought I'd update as I always like an update on a thread. Beautiful baby Torin was born last week. We were still undecided on his name on the day of the birth but when we saw him he somehow looked like a Torin!
His brother really wanted us to choose it so that helped and we are very happy with our choice. Thanks for all the opinions 😊

Milo!

Alstoybarn · 25/05/2022 00:36

Love malachy

Luredbyapomegranate · 24/05/2022 00:29

Torin is great
Milo is overused tho nice
Malachy is OK but a bit much

Derrymum123 · 22/05/2022 16:55

Malachy is lovely 💙, my favourite of the three. Milo reminds me of a Tweenie character my children used to watch, or as others have said, a dog. Torin a bit meh.

brokengoalposts · 22/05/2022 01:52

Malachy, sounds like someone clearing their throats.

Torrid Torin

Milo, I like but it's an Australian drink and some people think of that

Daphodils · 22/05/2022 01:45

I LOVE the name Milo - I'd go for that. (It's a very ancient name.)

Love Torin, it’s on our name for DS2.

Our “style” is very much Irish/Celtic. Other names we have used or considered:

Cormac
Tadhg
Oscar
Lachlan/Lochlan
Rohan
Cillian

I have a Lauchlan - still love his name.

BraveryBot9to5 · 21/05/2022 23:43

Malachy
Milo is nice, bit of a dated trend perhaps now, names ending in 'o' ??
Torin, yeh it's ok, although never met one. But quite like it I think.

AnnaSW1 · 21/05/2022 23:38

I much prefer Milo

DFOD · 21/05/2022 23:26

Milo O’Shea was a famous Irish actor.

Milo is also a name used in many countries worldwide over centuries - have a look at this list:

mummabubs · 21/05/2022 23:01

I'd say Torin, but then I have one so am a bit biased! 😊

I knew I'd find it. Mam not here anymore to remind me of the original Irish name that it's from. So Milo is the shortened form. My family are/ were Donegal, didn't speak Gaelic latterly but did going back a little. Milo has been used in my family for a long time.

I love Malachy.

Jacketandbeans · 21/05/2022 19:08

We would love another Irish name but it's not a deal breaker, so Milo being Irish or at least having Irish history makes it more appealing. I know there is also debate over whether Torin is Irish but I love it.
I'd be pronoucing it Toh-rin, like the start of Porridge but with a T. 😁

Is Milo really an old Irish name? I didn't realise that!

Never heard this before. I'm dubious tbh.

I like Malachy.
