If only dads named babies....

DD would be Ruth. Thankfully our friend used the name for their dog so I didn’t have to put my foot down about it 😂

Oh and this is possibly outing as these names are pretty rare (and ridiculous), my ex fiancee (who I was with for almost 3 years before DH), when we discussed names for future children, wanted Rolando and Rogero! His surname also started with a Ro sound and ended with an ee sound. I almost died laughing the first time he told me and told him it was a hard NO WAY! 😂
We agreed on Zach and Cameron. I FaceBook stalked him a couple of years ago (because I am nosy) and he has a son called Zach! I found that a bit weird tbh as, when I eventually did have kids, it didn't feel right to discuss names I'd picked with someone else.

If my husband had named our kids then
#1 (a DS) I have no idea as he instantly agreed with my desired name. DS has DH's name as a middle name. If DS had been a girl, we would have used the female version of the name.
#2 (a DD) may also probably have had the same name as when I suggested it (from my favourite Shakespeare play), DH had a crush on an actress with the same name. Had DD been a boy, DH wanted William. I totally vetoed that.

My dad named me. Had my dad been allowed to name my brother, he would have been called Eric Bloodaxe! 🙄

I’m currently pregnant with indentical twins, DH has suggested Gary because he’s heard it’s a dying name. There’s a reason for that. Randomly also Churchill (?). So if my twins are both boys they’d be Gary and Churchill.

Girls wouldn’t get off lightly either, they would be Marigold and Everly. Oh and he thought Primrose would be a lovely middle name for Marigold.

I was born in 1973, and my mother said if I had been a boy, I still wouldn't have a name. They could not agree on a boy's name, not in any way, shape or form. My mother said she liked Matthew, Jonathan and Christopher. The only name my father liked was Kirk. I still get a kick from my mother's look of disgust when she says that name. 🤣

The Clive thing... I know 2 and it still holds true!!

My DP suggested Scarlett for our DD. Nice name, but together with his surname it sounds like a medical condition.

For DS he suggested Rupert. It was a hard no from me. My dad hates the name we actually chose for our DS and suggested we go for Clive - because he's never met a Clive he didn't like . I only know one Clive, and he's a twat.

My husband and I made a deal that he would name our son and I would name our daughter.

We chose not to learn the sex of our children so we had to be ready with a name at birth. I gave him my options for a girl to ponder and my husband hadn't offered anything to me for a son for the entire pregnancy.

Our first child together was a boy.

Two hours after his birth, he opened a baby name book and chose "Adam" from page one! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Seriously, nine months and that's how our son got his name. It's a nice name and has suited him for 24 years but jeez!

Our children would be called.

1. Her actual name... which is after his favourite drink (its a nice name, she's not called Mojito or Cappuccino or something like that)
2. Nothing. He exhausted his name ideas on DD1.
