Need help with girls name for sister Isla

We are expecting our second baby and struggling to come up with girls names we like as much as we liked Isla. We have a definite boys name but can't find a girls one we love. I'm not keen on long names as we have a long surname and won't choose something that can have a lot of nicknames.

Here are some names we like but feel like they could be beaten:

Lucy
Hannah
Freya
Holly
Amy
Rosie
Keira

Any suggestions?

I immediately thought of Freya before I clicked on it. I think they are both lovely names.

Lisa the natural match for Isla Surely

Thank you so much, lots of new ones for us to consider. I do really love Zoe but we already have a Zoe in the family so can't use it

Isla is so popular that I think you need to take this into account when naming DC2. Alma is too unusual as a combination. You’ll have a disappointed child in every souvenir shop you enter.

Zoë would be lovely.

AMegaPint · 13/05/2022 11:31

I don't think Isla & Alma sound like a good sib set personally. It's a bit of a mouthful together with both names ending in a.

From your list, I love Lucy & Rosie.

DrFoxtrot · 13/05/2022 11:07

Alma suggested by PP is lovely!

Alma is beautiful and has the simplicity of Isla. It's derived from Latin meaning nourishing. But it's the Portuguese and Spanish word for soul
