I'm not keen on all veneration's of Apollo like this name or Apolla for example. I'm not sure if this i french name but at first glance it looks like Alpine.

Nb Apollo is a good name on its own.

mogtheexcellent · 11/05/2022 20:20

I know one. Shortened to Appi. Lovely girl. Its a nice name. Mum is french i think?

Also the name of Fleur Delacours mum in Harry Potter.

MissEarlGrey · 11/05/2022 20:19

Be aware that even in France, it’s not quite a standard name - it’s very posh!

Buttons294749 · 11/05/2022 20:14

I know 2!

Iamnotokifyouarenotok · 11/05/2022 10:55

Sorry but I think it’s awful!

CoralBells · 11/05/2022 10:54

I think kids nowadays are much more used to their friends having names from other countries

Caminante · 10/05/2022 17:53

Cute. Polly for short.

PaddlingLikeADuck · 10/05/2022 17:29

Sounds too much like ‘trampoline’ for my liking…

Goldfishjones · 09/05/2022 23:19

I just thought Trampoline

Luredbyapomegranate · 09/05/2022 23:08

Wouldn’t work in the Uk, people will hear it as A Pauline, or Apple-een.

Borris · 09/05/2022 22:57

A bit like trampoline

WeasilyPleased · 09/05/2022 22:49

Too appley for me.

ImprobablePuffin · 09/05/2022 18:40

I realise it isn't an English name, but to my English ear it sounds like a topical ointment

Pieceofpurplesky · 09/05/2022 18:37

If you are northern *

evrey · 09/05/2022 18:37

Sounds like a medication sorry.

Pieceofpurplesky · 09/05/2022 18:36

Haus1234 · 09/05/2022 11:41

It will be frequently misheard as “Pauline” which is pretty old fashioned. I do like it though!

Or 'our Pauline' if you north

pinklavenders · 09/05/2022 18:31

Is there any other way than to pronounce it as it's written: Ah Poll een

I can't tho of any other ways to say Apolline..?

ofwarren · 09/05/2022 18:29

How would you pronounce it?

SnowyPetals · 09/05/2022 18:20

Lovely in French but sounds like a cleaning product in English.

Ameanstreakamilewide · 09/05/2022 18:16

It sounds like an industrial solvent.

CheshireCats · 09/05/2022 18:05

Horrible

Chaoslatte · 09/05/2022 18:03

Minimalme · 09/05/2022 16:09

And it's nothing like Pauline or aeroplane - have you guys been on the midday gins? Grin

It’s very similar to Pauline pronounced the French way.

AnuSTart · 09/05/2022 17:57

Great name!

Firebird83 · 09/05/2022 17:55

I think it’s lovely.
