Lowrie?

Thinking Lowrie or Lowry for a boy. Shetland name I believe.

I think it's a derivative of Laurence but also lowrie can mean fox? Could anyone shed any light?

I do like Laurie as a short form of Lawrence

Before I read your post I assumed it was for a girl. I do like it, but can't shed any light on the origins
