Looking for ideas for a girl's name. Her sister is called Violet. Maybe Iris (too floral together?)

Thanks

Those are all precious or semi precious stones. And since violet is a colour as well as a flower using a colour name would not remove the matchiness.

Well, yes, that was the point. Matching, but not matching, matching in a different way….

Pearl? Coral? Ruby? Emerald? So colours rather than flowers.

Violet and Iris are sharp rather than sappy so I think they work OK.. but they are a bit twinny, so Violet and

Margot?
Amber?

Oh lovely the suggestion of Hazel with Violet as well.

PeaceLurking9to5 · 05/05/2022 07:39

Mabel is lovely.
Eliza too.

I wouldn't go for another floral name tbh. Not even Iris. Iris is probably the best floral name to put with Violet as it's not a frilly flowery name it's strong. But two flower names, nmsaa.

DurdleSnore · 05/05/2022 07:37

I know a Violet and Mabel which sound good together I think.

I like Eliza paired with Violet; it’s quite musical said together with the ‘i’ sounds complimenting eachother. “Violet and Eliza, come here please!”. Yes, very nice :)
