So we love Xanthe Rose and it God really well but it’s been done to death so looking for alternatives? surname is one syllable and quite common

While I won't tar all one-syllable middles with the same brush, I kind of agree. We've got to a place where almost every little girl I know born in the past two years has a one-syllable middle name, they all kind of blend into each other for me.

I don’t like one-syllable middle names. They just become bland and pointless. If you have a one-syllable surname, definitely don’t have a one-syllable middle name. Maybe three syllables would work well - Eg, Xanthe Maria Jones. Xanthe Diana Smith.

With a two syllable first name and a one syllable surname I love the cadence of a longer middle. I like both your idea of Ophelia OP, and also things like:

I think Xanthe Rose sound great. I mean, with a fantastic name like Xanthe she’s not going to care that her middle name is a bit normal. She’s just going to be so incredibly happy that her first name already starts with a cool X when she’s fourteen and all the other girls start trying to work out how to spell their name with an X in it. (From experience, I really think every girl goes through a stage of wishing their name was as awesome as Xanthe).
