Hi everyone,

we are having our second daughter in August and for the life of us can’t decide on a name. We have a daughter named Bella Blue already and was hoping for some suggestions.

Our list so far:
Alba
Lacie
Nixie
Indie
Gigi
Sydney - my fave
Lumi
Lennie
Bonnie
Maeve
Eden
Roxie - husbands fave

but none are jumping out on us! Help please :)

Of those I’d agree Sidney, otherwise Roxana nn Roxie (just Roxie is too nightclub). Otherwise Alba is fine. Rest pretty grim TBH - I know Gigi is fun but your daughter will have to live with this name, so give her one that doesn’t sound like a random nn you thought up for a laugh.

Maeve is the only nice name on your list. The rest are terrible especially Nixie and Gigi.
What about Luna instead of Lumi? Or Adelaide instead of Sydney?

My aunt is called Sydney (aged about 75) and it's a lovely name but some people assumed she was male (maybe not a bad thing necessarily to have some confusion). Also difficulty spelling it often I think

Most of these aren't really my style so feel free to ignore my opinion! But from your list I like Alba and Maeve, and Sydney and Eden are also ok. For me, these four are the best by a long shot.

Much prefer Lucy to Lacie. Bonnie ok but not with Bella.

Nixi and Lumi don't seem like real names to me, and Lennie is more of a nickname. How is Gigi pronounced Gee-Gee?

Hate Roxie, sorry.

timoteigirl · 27/04/2022 13:32

Before reading your options, I thought od Nellie and Elin or Elina, other names with L-sounds.
Pixie?

Sydney Scarlett
Lumi - very popular in Finland, wold people know how to pronounce it?
Lennie - isn't this a boy's name?
Bonnie - sorry to me this is a cow's name like Clover
Maeve - yes love this
Eden - a river
Roxie - okay
