Hi everyone,

we are having our second daughter in August and for the life of us can’t decide on a name. We have a daughter named Bella Blue already and was hoping for some suggestions.

Our list so far:
Alba
Lacie
Nixie
Indie
Gigi
Sydney - my fave
Lumi
Lennie
Bonnie
Maeve
Eden
Roxie - husbands fave

but none are jumping out on us! Help please :)

@FayCarew

Yes. My womb is coming out of retirement. That name deserves to live

wizzler · 30/04/2022 07:11

How about Elke?
Of your list I only like Eden

Lylakate · 29/04/2022 23:05

Alba - don’t like it sorry
Lacie - I really like it, and the spelling is really cute and I prefer it to Lacey or Lacy
Nixie - Awful
Indie - I love it! It was on my list for a girl
Gigi - Ok
Sydney - Ok
Lumi - Awful
Lennie - Prefer it on a boy
Bonnie - Really cute, but maybe a little too cutesy
Maeve - I like it
Eden - I really like it
Roxie - I love it

ladygindiva · 29/04/2022 21:54

I'm with you op, Sydney. And I'd put Maeve in as a middle name x

timoteigirl · 29/04/2022 21:51

Bo is Swedish/ Scandi boy's name so is Beau isn't it?
With Bronte, better with or without the umlaut? Most people don't use umlaut for Chloe any longer. Bronte is a unisex name which is the current trend.

FayCarew · 29/04/2022 17:22

Wasn't Brone adapted from Brunty. not a nice meaning

timestheyarechanging · 29/04/2022 16:29

Brontë - she's 23 and loves her name

FayCarew · 29/04/2022 16:17

Makes me think of Baubles

@opensunflower , have you considered having another just so you could use it

opensunflower · 29/04/2022 15:43

Makes me think of Bow Bells

opensunflower · 29/04/2022 15:41

Ah Beau Bella, i wish I'd thought of that for my baby

🤣

Nigella

roxanneeeee · 29/04/2022 15:21

My name is roxanne. I've always loved being a roxanne. Everyone always talk about the name and it's like an automatic ice breaker everywhere I go. I've done really well in life and I honestly think being a roxanne helped simply because you get picked for stuff where people want to meet a roxanne. Even in job interviews I seem to be selected and then everyone mentions the name when I see them and always in a positive manner.

I also get a lot of references to the song but again, it's just an ice breaker and because it's made it so east to speak to people (I had to adjust growing up) i think it's contributed to me being confident meeting anyone.

I don't like to be called Roxie as I think that's not so great.

Butterflyball · 28/04/2022 13:05

Our Bella's sister is Harper ☺️

beetree1 · 28/04/2022 10:44

Alba or Sydney from your list are my favourite. I would say Bella maybe goes more with Alba x

FayCarew · 27/04/2022 21:26

No rules about it but it seems a bit strange to use the same name twice for siblings

Linda means beautiful too

You could have siblings Susan and Lily, Deborah and Melissa, Ian and Shaun etc where both names have the same meaning

ChocolateHippo · 27/04/2022 21:14

Isla
Luna
Everly
Hallie
Willow
Vivienne
Esme
Lila
Ivy
Elowen

From your list, I like Bonnie and Eden best.

recycling*

AlwaysBeAMummyTo6 · 27/04/2022 21:03

also can I ask what's the problem in "reycyling" a siblings name? When I'm sure most of us have our dads, grandads, brothers, uncles, aunties, nannas, sisters or mothers name in our names if you understand what I'm saying. So I find that comment interesting 🤔

AlwaysBeAMummyTo6 · 27/04/2022 20:58

either a girl or a boys name*

AlwaysBeAMummyTo6 · 27/04/2022 20:56

pizzaand · 27/04/2022 20:51

The issue is that both Beau and Bella mean beautiful so you'd be calling your child Beautiful-Beautiful

Also, Beau is the Masculine form so not a girl's name.

Why would you recycle a sibling's name?

It's hyphenated.

@AlwaysBeAMummyTo6

didn't realise Bella meant beautiful tbh so thanks for pointing that out 😀but Beau can be used for either a girl of a boy's name though and I think Beau sounds better for a girl than a boy. But anyway that probably rules the suggestion out anyway if both names mean beautiful 😂

PinkSyCo · 27/04/2022 20:48

I love the name Bella Blue! I also really like the name Bonnie, and as bonnie means beautiful in Scotland I think it would go perfectly with Bella.

Bonnie Blue was the name of Scarlett and Rhett's daughter in Gone With Wind wasn't it?

Talking of which, I also like Tara

Kat1953 · 27/04/2022 20:52

*fairy

Kat1953 · 27/04/2022 20:52

I like that Fay means fairly. Don't see what's wrong with it. Each to their own, I wouldn't take it so personally myself.
