Felix or Louis

DH can't get past the cat association but I love Felix. What with YouTube and streaming services, I think the younger generation are less likely to watch/be exposed to tv ads featuring cat food than we were so thinking the link between Felix and cats isn't really relevant. What are your thoughts?
The other name we have is Louis (pronounced Louie), sometimes I love it and sometimes not. Middle name likely to be George or Frederick. DS due next month.

I prefer Louis. Surely if your husband isn’t on board with Felix it’s off the table anyway. I don’t associate Felix with cats and I like the name but your husband is allowed to not like it for that reason. Anyone can veto a name for any reason. I wouldn’t use Louis and George together; I’d probably assume you were some kind of Kate Middleton fan girl.

Felix has such a great meaning. I'm not keen on Louis. It sounds a bit whiny to me.

Both great names, but the cat food spoils Felix for me, I'm afraid.

Sorry brand

Louis

Felix is not only a cat but a well known Bratofens cat food!

They're both lovely.
Considered Felix for my son (and Felicity for my daughter)).

Love both your choices

Tina221 · 16/04/2022 14:45

Louis is a lovely name

Felix is one of my favourite names! I would have used it for my DS, except that it sounds ridiculous with our last name, unfortunately.

Louis

Felix is awful

Our cat is Louis and absolutely love it for a boy/man.
